☀️🐾 Hot Weather = Extra Care for Our Dogs 🐶💧
As temperatures rise, it’s important to help our dogs stay safe, cool, and hydrated. Unlike us, dogs can’t sweat the same way—so they rely on us to keep them comfortable!
Here are some simple ways to protect your pup in warm weather:
💦 Hydration is key
Always provide fresh, clean water—at home and on the go. Consider bringing a portable dog bowl on walks.
🌳 Seek shade
Whether in the garden or at the park, make sure your dog has access to shaded areas to escape direct sunlight.
🚶♂️ Time your walks wisely
Early mornings and evenings are best. Pavement can get extremely hot and may burn paws—if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for their feet.
🏡 Keep indoor spaces cool
Use fans, open windows safely, or let your dog relax in cooler rooms. Never leave them in a parked car—even for a minute.
🧊 Cool treats & fun
Frozen dog-safe treats or a splash in a paddling pool can help them beat the heat while having fun.
⚠️ Watch for signs of overheating
Heavy panting, drooling, lethargy, or vomiting can signal heat stress. If you notice these, act quickly and contact a vet.
Let’s keep our furry friends happy, healthy, and cool all summer long!
