This gorgeous little minx is Dolly, a 2 year old Pomeranian Shih Tzu mix and she is absolutely delightful !

Dolly completed 2 days of settling in sessions with Lola and I this week and it’s safe to say she has made herself right at home - I never thought I’d look after a dog that made Lola look big but here we are 😂🐾💛🐶

She is sweet, funny, sassy and so playful. Tommy and Dolly have already become firm friends as he picks her up and carries her around like a baby (which she’s loves 😂).

Such a super star and brilliant to walk - loves being off the leash like Lola and her recall is bang on point.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming her in to our home on Monday for 8 nights while her family travels abroad on holiday 🛫

UPDATE 🐾🐶💛

Lola and I have an update for our lovely followers and customers.

At a recent appointment for her to have her booster shots the vet thought she could hear a heart murmur.

We thought nothing of this but the vet suggested that as she was due to be neutered in late December (and therefore go under general anaesthetic) that we should get it checked out.

Several scans later and a trip to the Queen’s Cambridge Veterinary Hospital and it turns out that Lola has a small hole in her heart (a condition known as VSD).

The good news is that she is completely asymptomatic (she shows no signs of this medical condition at all) and the prognosis is that she should live a long and heathy life with no surgery or medication needed. She’ll be going for scans every 6/9 months for the rest of her life to keep an eye on it.

However - I had always planned to have Lola neutered, for lots of reasons but mainly so she would not have to deal with feeling rubbish for a couple of months every year while on heat, phantom pregnancies etc.

The dog cardiologist she is now been seen by in Cambridge have advised that although it is possible for Lola to go to a special hospital to have a general anaesthetic it will be risky (well - much risker than the usual risks associated with neutering).

I’ve made the decision not to risk it and to keep her in tact. If I lost her this early due to an operation that I chose for her and that wasn’t life-saving I couldn’t live with myself!

So - what does this mean for Little Lola’s ?

- [ ] All dogs in my care will need to be neutered for safety purposes

- [ ] I will continue to work with male dogs for walking and day care but not boarding.

- [ ] My boarding service will be for female dogs only.

My favourite ball of pudding and floof is back !

Little Zuri - she has so much energy and love to give 🐾🐶💛

She always stops on walks to say hello to absolutely everyone - she’s so sociable but is sensibly cautious and has been trained so well by her family to return when she goes off on a wander !

(And yes I am talking to her on the video before she licks my face 😂 I am also wearing my pj bottoms over my leggings because it is cold and I refuse to put the heating on when I have 2 fluff balls to keep me warm 😂)

It’s been a busy half term but we still managed to see Milo last week for a stomp on a beautiful day at Rushcliffe Country Park 🐾🐶💛

I work with small to medium breeds and Milo certainly isn’t small or medium but I’ve known him since he was a pup so we love to spend time with him whenever we can 💛🐶🐾

Sleepy & restful moments with these girls has been a joy 🐾💛🐶

For their day naps they are quite content to sleep next to each other or with me in the middle (normally on my sofa when a get a few minutes to sit down and do some admin on the laptop).

As much as I love walking for hours - rest is really important for dogs to aid their development (in Lola’s case as a young dog) and for regenerative purposes (in Dottie’s case as a more senior dog.)

This is why I have chosen to work with dogs on a 121 basis. I acan tailor my service to meet the specific needs of your dog, without having to juggle the needs of others (apart from Lola’s of course!)

This allows me to provide quite a special service for families and owners that want their dog to be cared for in the most loving environment and with their dogs’ needs as my top priority.

I love what I do and I love being able to provide exceptional 121 care for dogs & owners 🐶💛🐾

Dottie has arrived for her 5 day stay following a couple of settling in sessions over the last week. I never charge for any of my settling in sessions prior to boarding because I believe them to be absolutely crucial in getting the dog used to me and my home before they are left here for longer than a couple of hours and Dottie is a perfect example of why the settling in sessions are so important.

Dogs always surprise me with how different their personalities can be…. Some are cheeky & sassy, some are d***y and daft, some are wild and excitable.

Dottie is a little nervous at times and very cautious, but within just a few visits to my home she has immediately trusted me to care for her and make sure she is safe. She’s settled in beautifully 🐾🐶💛

She is the sweetest little bean and has made herself right at home already 🐾💛🐶

This gorgeous little dog is called Dottie - she’s a rescue so we’r not sure what breed she is but she’s still going strong at nearly 10 years old !!

I’ve never known a dog to make Lola look big - but Lola is literally double her size if you can believe that !

Dottie has joined us over the last week to do some settling in sessions before she comes for 5 days of boarding while her family go on holiday.

She is the sweetest little bean 🫘
