Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre

Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre The Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre - often copied but rarely bettered So in 2001, the Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre was born!

Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre owners Steve & Amanda Powell have shared their lives with Pedigree dogs for over 35 years. As owners, breeders & even judging Rottweilers & Pembroke Corgis for over 35 years, they originally began hydrotherapy not as a business, but with their original pool only for their own dogs following injury & also to build general fitness. They were then approached by l

ocal veterinary practices to offer hydrotherapy services to their clients whose dogs had suffered various injuries. The centre is based in Hucknall - Nottinghamshire in just over a quarter of an acre of what many of their clients consider is a tranquil & inviting ‘little bit of the countryside in the town’. We are the most experienced Hydrotherapy Centre in Nottinghamshire and further afield, we are open 5 days a week and having vets from all over the East Midlands referrring to us as they know we have an excellent reputation. Steve is a fully qualified Canine Hydrotherapist. Unlike many of the centres in Nottinghamshire we will only swim a dog once we have a referral for your dog from your vet! This does not mean that your dog has to have an injury, but it means that for the safety of your dog, we will approach your vet from your dogs medical history to ensure that your pet does not have an illness that could affect his health when swimming. This is for your dogs wellbeing and is something that many pools do not do - they just tell you to come along and have a fun swim! So if you want a hydrotherapy centre that offers you the best service - give us a ring on 0115 840 7273, and we will do our best to help you! From the Team at Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Cente

WE ARE CLOSED

With a heavy heart we announce that after 25 years providing Hydrotherapy for the dogs of Nottingham and beyond, we have taken the decision to retire and as of 28th March 2026 Nottingham Canine Hydrotherapy Centre Nottingham Hydrotherapy Centre closed our doors for the last time.
It hasn’t been an easy decision to make but the attack by a dog to Steve caused irreparable damage to his hand and he is still awaiting surgery. Then in February Amanda Steve Powell was diagnosed with recurring cancer - so Steve decided it was time to look after each other.
We would like to thank our staff - especially Janet and Hayley- who have pulled out the stops to help through staff illness, then both of our hospital appointments over the last few months. We wish you both all the very best - Janet in your new roll as Hydrotherapist at Mansfield and as your own boss! And Hayley - enjoy your Summer off!
To past staff Tegan and Kathryn thank you both.
We would like to thank everyone for the many cards, flowers and gifts for us all - they are very much appreciated.
We would also like to thank the many vets practices who have completed referral forms and referred customers dogs to us for 25 years.
Then there are the customers- thank you for supporting us for 25 years! We have made many new friends, met wonderful people, fabulous dogs and met a few strange folk along the way! We could write a book with the illnesses, anecdotes and stories we have heard!
Lastly I - Amanda - would like to thank Steve my hubby - who, over 25 years ago, listened to my idea of building a hydrotherapy pool for our own dogs and then ran with the plan when I wrote the business plan to put to the bank! He has supported every idea since, took on the roll of Hydrotherapist himself after my health deteriorated and worked sometimes 60-80 hours a week to keep us going.
We’ve had some good times, a few great holidays, a nice few vehicles and I’ve been able to enjoy my one great love - DOGS!!!
Onto a new chapter in our lives now - a slower pace hopefully once all the surgery and hospital visits are finished and we have both recovered. Then hopefully more time together and with family and friends.
We wish everyone well - canines and their humans!
Cheers
Amanda and Steve 🥂🥂
