Whilst wild walking can be exciting, it doesn't come without risks. These risks include; attacks from strange off lead dogs, dog thefts, discarded litter and dogs getting lost. That's why every single one of our walks is carried out in a variety of privately rented secure fields. This allows each dog the chance to

have free roaming fun regardless of recall and you have peace of mind your loved one is safe.

Not only does your dog need exercise, it needs the opportunity to drain energy, play and spend time with its own kind to learn essential manners and doggy etiquette. Using only positive enforcement techniques we work with your dog to improve recall, social skills & play positively. Before returning home you, every effort is made to ensure each dog has received the appropriate after walk care needed. In sludgy winter months this might involve a warm shampoo, wash & dry and on hot summer days cool washes, cold drinks & cooling towels. Clients are notified of the exact time their dog is picked up & dropped back home via a WhatsApp Group, that can include up to 3 people of your choosing. After each session up to 5 videos/ photos are sent to the WhatsApp group. We do not expect a response to these messages, these are for you to enjoy at a time that suits you. If you think your dog would enjoy our sessions then please say hello and tell me a little about yourself. The first step is to arrange a home visit which typically takes no more than 30 minutes. This is so we can get to know each other and learn things like; where the leads are kept, where the dog should be collected from/ returned to and where we can park. We'll also complete a few bits of paperwork for insurance purposes and set up a free trial session where you can bring your dog along to one of the sessions.

This weather really hits our industry hard.

Over the last few days, many of us in the dog industry have had to make the decision to cancel classes, workshops, walks, training sessions, daycare activities and events.

As small businesses, every cancellation has an impact. We lose income, spend hours rearranging schedules, and often absorb costs that can’t be recovered.

But dog welfare will always come first.

No class, walk, workshop or training session is worth putting a dog at risk. When temperatures soar, our responsibility is to keep dogs safe, even when it’s the harder business decision.

So today, I’d love to shine a light on the amazing small businesses who are also putting welfare first. If you know a dog trainer, walker, daycare, groomer, physio, hydrotherapist, pet sitter or any other pet professional who has been affected by the heat, tag them below and give them a follow.

Supporting small businesses costs nothing, but it can make a huge difference.

Let’s show some love to the people who spend every day caring for our dogs. ❤️🐾

Happy bank holiday weekend everyone, hope you all get to relax and enjoy some sunshine!

The van is back in action with a sparkly new gearbox and even a little wash! The fields have been spruced up ready to see everyone next week.

Thank you to everyone for accommodating the emergency time off. Despite being a little under the weather I’ve had a lovely week of relaxing and taking Lola on little adventures to build her confidence in public.

Have a great long weekend and see you all Tuesday! ❤️🐻🧸🐾

Welcome back Tegan, we all missed you! ❤️🧸🐾

Tegan is back to her walks and friends with Big Bear Dog Walking and she could not be happier ❤️❤️ I love just how much she is beaming at Jasmyne.

We are back to normal, the girls are back together and Dave and I can finally relax 😁 And get to my admin, which has been piling up!

⚠️ FOUND DOG – PLEASE SHARE ⚠️

I’m sharing this on behalf of a client who has found this dog.

He was discovered wandering in a nearby close. Absolutely stunning to look at, but not particularly keen on people getting too close—he had to be lured in with a steak.

He is now safe and contained, but we would strongly advise that only the owner attempts to approach.

If you recognise him or know who he belongs to, please get in touch so we can reunite him with his owner

Sleeping like she’s just worked a 14-hour shift, paid the bills, filed her taxes, resolved three family disputes, and can finally rest now everything’s sorted.

Meanwhile her biggest achievement today was moving from one sofa cushion to another.

I want to be Lola in my next life

Well… I can now officially confirm that Big Bear Dog Walking also offers weather control services 🌧️☀️

It was absolutely POURING down today, so in a moment of pure desperation (and mild delusion), we decided to get the dogs to perform a coordinated rain-banishing chant… lots of barking, howling, dramatic hand gestures… the full ritual.

And I kid you not — seconds later — the sun came out. 🤯

So if anyone needs sunshine summoning for weddings, garden parties, or general emotional support, we are apparently available.

You’re welcome.

Special credit to Bailey (I think his Husky like howling really did the magic)

There can sometimes be an expectation on a small business that every single day should come with a happy, upbeat post about how amazing life is and how fabulous the job is.

But that isn’t the reality?

This post is for the dog walkers who have just survived another winter.

For around six months of the year, this job looks very different to what people see online – constant rain, soaked clothes, wet vans, muddy dogs, damp leads, drying rooms that never properly dry, the risk of mould and literally hundreds of towels to wash every week.

It isn’t cosy.
It isn’t aesthetic.
It’s physically hard, messy and relentless.

Then you hit January – long, dark days that feel never-ending.
Now we’re into February – the days might be getting a little longer, but they’re colder, wetter and somehow even muddier.

So if you’re a dog walker who has made it through another winter…

This is for you.

You still showed up.
You still walked properly.
You still kept your standards high when everything was soaked, frozen or filthy.

That’s not luck.
That’s graft.
That’s consistency.
That’s professionalism.

And if you made it home, got the shower on or sank into a hot bath, got some warmth back into your body and finally peeled off the wet layers…

It doesn’t matter that you didn’t get a social media post done today.

What matters is that the dogs were cared for properly.

You can go to bed knowing you did your job well. 🐾
