SUNDAY MORNING FISH FIX!
These are our Gold Ring Danio (danio tinwini), sometimes referred to as Burmese/Burma danio or a combination of.

These, as many fish from Myanmar are what we regard as nano fish, only reaching 2-3cm maximum. These are a shoaling species so a group of 6 minimum will show off the natural tight shoaling behaviour. Kept in a reasonably planted aquarium with open water and a good flow rate, these will display even deeper cut patterning than we have in the clip.

If these are kept with other similar sized fish like Celestial Pearl Danios and Hovering Zebra Loach, a show stopping display can be created in a relatively small aquarium. Larger set ups with nano residents is a sight to see!

Most of the nano fish will readily take decent dry and frozen food, and will all happily take residence in the same water parameters and are fairly undemanding.

HILLSTREAM TROUT
🔎Rare fish arrival🔍

We’re so pleased to have these difficult to find treasures arrive. We’ve been ordering these for months without suppliers producing providing them but finally a small batch arrived this week.

Hillstream trout (opsarius bernatziki)
Found in Asia in cooler stream and fast rivers with high oxygen content and are torpedo shaped to keep up with high flow.

These make superb tank mates with hill stream loach and will add constant activity to the lower water column, forming a tight shoal of activity.

These only reach around 9cm so are a much welcome addition to the temperate line up for the home temperate aquarium.

These are a rare opportunity to get your hands on. Don’t miss them!

Another exciting week here in the fish room with some much anticipated arrivals including Gold laser Corydoras, 2 types of Otocinclus, unusual tiger shrimp, some new hard to find hillstream fish (not loach) and much more.

These are a superb addition to a cooler hillstream set up. These max out at around 9cm and are perfect mid to upper tank mates with Hillstream loach and similar tank mates. Hard to find so don’t miss them. Located on the temperate section outside the door to the tropical fish room.

Ahead of our much anticipated Friday fish update (that’s taking some time to compile) we’re over the moon to have managed to get hold of a few Gold laser Corydoras. As you can see, these are a superb strain showing bright well defined markings active and a great size. These are suited to any decent sized community set up and would make a great breeding project for the budding fish breeder. Update to follow with more rare finds🔎🐠🔍

Here’s a couple of fish that’s not found in abundance. In this clip we have Venezuelan black Corydoras. These are seen a little more frequently these days and are still well dirt after. These are pretty undemanding and will cohabitate with most community fish.
Secondly we have the much more scarce Everglades Pygmy sunfish. These are considered a temperate fish taking a range from 10c to the low 20s. Keep these in a planted set up with other nano tank mates and the males will become little living gems when in breeding condition.
These are the first we’ve ever had and one not to be missed.

MIRROR CARP “CATCH OF THE DAY”

We don’t often single out an individual pond fish but these Mirrors are one not to miss. These are already showing exquisite wood carving patterns and will certainly become worthy prize fish!

These are located in the vats outside to the right as you go through the slide doors. Please ask at the main counter to view these beautiful specimens!
