Some of our bioactive enclosures for our rescue cresties 😍🔥
When starting a new enclosure we always take into account the individual behaviour of the animal going into it. Aswell as any health issues that could have an effect.
For example, Jerry came to us with debilitating MBD and FTS, after having spent the first 4 years of his life in a completely unsuitable set up, with a faulty heatmat and a 4w lamp bulb for his light, being fed purely on jelly pots!
He was kept on aspen bedding, at 10% humidity, with nowhere to climb.
Because of this unfortunate start in life, he came to us covered in layers of stuck shed, with little to no muscle mass. He was unable to stick, climb or jump at all- which is what cresties are known for. He also did not know what bugs or cgd were and had to be hand fed until he got the gist of it 🙏
Despite all this he continues to be the sweetest and friendliest crestie we have ever come across ❤️
Taking into account Jerry's past, and his ongoing health issues; we have provided a safe space for him to heal and gain back his strength.
He has been with us for over a year now, making huge improvements in his bioactive 45cm cube, with plenty of climbing opportunities and hiding spots, aswell as the correct T5 uvb strip lighting (with d3) and overhead heat controlled via thermostat. Oh, and let's not forget a much better diet of CGD and varied live bugs- Dusted with calcium supplements.
Every day we see improvements and between us and the vets, we have decided he is finally strong enough to be moved to a full sized tank (with the nessecary precautions taken to ensure he doesn't injure himself)
*Jerry is not for rehome*
