🥎 Switching up the game 🥎
Fetch doesn't just have to be repetitive ball chucking!
By changing the regular game of fetch not only can we build upon our dogs impulse control we can also improve our dogs focus on us at the same time.
In this short video my dog is pretty keen to get the ball, this particular kind of ball is probably the highest value thing to her. Even higher than chicken sometimes 😱
She is displaying impulse control by sitting, waiting for me to come back to her, she maintains eye contact with me (rather than fixating on the ball) & she doesn't move until given the cue "get it"
Using games like this & breaking down behaviours into small chunks we can create life skills that are transferable to a multitude of different situations & it's still just as fun for the dog!
