Thanks to some lovely adoptions and brilliant fosters we are so pleased to confirm we are able to take all 30 of the emergency intake.

You all did amazing things to make sure these Guineas had a second chance at 5* homes. For that we are grateful 🙏

They are due to arrive on Tuesday, 19th, and some may have a long road ahead of them. If you could donate flea treatments, cash donations into the bank for vet visits, and anything else on the amazon wishlist, it would be so helpful.

🚨Calling all Wheekers!!🚨

We have had a call for help from a member of the public regarding the surrendering of 30 Guinea pigs.

Sadly we are unable to take them all into the Sanctuary due to the space available and the number of volunteers we have. We just dont have enough people who can come regularly enough to help with that many.

We would also need a team to build all the extra cages 😂

So the Sanctuary is committing to 10 Guineas plus the residents we already have.

There are a few ways you lovely people can help:

1. Adopt any of the Guinea pigs already listed on our website so that we can free up cages and commit to more

2. Offer to foster- you would have to be available to pick up on the 19th August as this is likely when they will all arrive

4. Volunteers are always in short supply - can you commit some regular time to help out?

We have an urgent situation in Newcastle where a couple of boars require rescuing. I have work commitments and so cant go and the other rescue has transport issues. The person surrendering also has transport issues so its all a bit of a nightmare.

Is there anyone who could volunteer to pick these lads up and either bring them here to me or take them to D&H rescue in Durham?
