As we come to the close of 2025, I’ve learned so much about this business and about myself. No matter where you go, mistakes happen, and there will always be people with unkind opinions about you or what you’re building. Despite that, this year has brought valuable lessons and a great deal of joy.

When I had my baby, I knew things would naturally need to slow down before and after that time. However, over the past few days I’ve felt incredibly grateful to find a rhythm that allows me to include my little one, continue exploring the outdoors, and share those experiences with some wonderful pooches.

When I first started this business, I approached it from a very practical, hands-on perspective and didn’t fully realise the extent of the legal requirements involved. That didn’t mean I couldn’t do this work—it simply meant I needed to obtain the appropriate council documentation. I already have insurance in place, which I knew was essential. While I understand the purpose of these requirements, I’ll admit that, on a personal level, some of it feels unnecessary when care, experience, and common sense are already there. If you truly care for animals, have your own, and understand what it takes to give them the best possible care, that commitment naturally extends to others’ pets as well.

Unfortunately, there have been attempts to tarnish this business, and discussions with the council haven’t led to much progress. At this stage, it feels unlikely that I’ll be able to operate in a fully “official” capacity unless I relocate and open my home up for inspection. For me, home is meant to feel safe, warm, and private, and that process feels quite invasive.

That said, I believe this journey shows that those who choose to trust me can do so with confidence. Every animal in my care is loved and cared for unconditionally, regardless of whether there is a particular piece of paper in place.

While I may not be an official dog carer, I am incredibly grateful to those who support me, believe in me, and continue to help me learn and grow. Your trust means everything to me 🐶❤️

September was incredible and the best time to end my dog care work before I went on maternity leave 🤰

I love my dog care and I’ve definitely not had an easy time with certain individuals trying to bring my business down.

However we must keep going and move forward…

On a more exciting note, I would like to announce that my pregnancy ended a little sooner than what was expected and due 🙈 my little man arrived 3 weeks earlier than expected and I’ve yet to be able to post any work from September due to the arrival of our Frankie 💙

Frankie arrived on the 05.10.25 and we are so pleased as he is well & happy!

So I will be stepping back from work for a fair while but I hope to be back in the near future❤️

Thank you again for all those that continue to support me & my small business. I wouldn’t get through it without you!

A Few Evenings Last Week 🤍

Last week I was able to care for two lots of small holding’s & I love it! 🥰

I visited two separate houses and both had a range of smaller animals.

- Ducks 🦆
- Chickens 🐓
- Cats 🐈‍⬛
- Geese🪿

I’ve cared for previous animals of this nature before and I can say it’s a truly wonderful experience.

As much as I love dogs 🐶 and those that know me, know that about me. However it was a nice to change to care for other animals.

I adore doing things like this and I am almost at 30 weeks of my pregnancy 🤰and I’ve had a bit less work on recently due to the summer holidays, so this has really made me feel human to just get out and be in a bit of a routine.

IVE BEEN SO DESPERATE TO POST!

I still haven’t quite worked out what this page is at the moment considering it’s a non profit page, as much as I would love it to be.

However the backlash I got previously has affected me in many ways😔

I will continue to try and share my joys of caring for animals no matter the circumstances. Will get there, business can be rough!

however I thoroughly enjoyed this walk on Sunday and my partner was a part of it and so was Bella 🐶 I’m so lucky to be in a position where I can still do bits and bobs like this in my current pregnancy journey👶🏻❤️

Due to some recent events - I’ve had some harassment, comments & lies thrown out - not only my page, but to the council & the council have spoken to me. They aren’t taking sides, they are doing their job and following up protocol’s & procedures. They know I’ve nothing to hide else there would be further concerns & consequences but due to me
Not going anything wrong or illegal as some may put it, but directly posting on my page with unhelpful comments which may I add, please get your facts correct before you bring someone business down.

If we have never had contact & you have only gone off word of mouth, think about it from your side, how would you like it not only done to you but to your business. It’s not okay nor is it helpful.

You know nothing about me nor the context of the situation - so please stop.

I’m going to be reporting this. Because it’s harassment & for anyone else that does it. It will continue to do report it.

I want to say I’m wishing to close the page or disable it, because it’s just not worth the hassle. Please allow me some time to figure out what’s best to do!

This is really sad 😔

Twice since setting up a business (this business) I’ve had two complaints about me & me trying to run a business! When people run these business, there is no handbook & shouldn’t need one, if you are true animal lover & have the right attitude…. It shouldn’t be controlled by a piece of paper. Unless you are genuinely unsuitable & have no clue where to start.

Many of my recent customers are non-profit dog caring work. I was unsuccessful in parts of last year, but I can truly learn from this. Just like any business module or venture.

I would love this to be my business full time & continue to earn from it, to become more & more successful.

Although due to different circumstances, different lines of work. I cannot do this.

I am 25 weeks pregnant today & still trying to figure a plan.
I enjoy caring for dogs, animals & if there wasn’t all these professionals procedures to follow, I may be able to do things in a way that doesn’t bring pressure & stress & unhelpful comments / unrealistic comments to the council or me, not only to waste my time but there’s and to leave me feeling pretty down!

I hope this post reflects many things including the type of person that I really am and the care in the world that I have for animals.
Those that do know me or know how much of a hard worker, caring individual I truly am.

if you have gotten to know me just through the business just take a minute to let me know your thoughts on how I’ve cared for your animal & if you are family of mine and you know how I’ve been with your animals or animals that I’ve grown up around me again just write a little comment to say who I am as a person to show those that are bringing me down, there’s just no need for it🩷

I appreciate every single one of you no matter how you have found this page and those that continue just to support individual small businesses🐶

Hallie 🤎 has become a big part of our lives at Daisy’s Paws 🐾 In terms of her family allowing her to come and stay when they’re in need of someone to look after her. She brings so much joy and happiness!

From the day I met Hallie she has always surprised me, with her spectacular coat & the way she is happy to just run.

I love her energy as it keeps me going and I also appreciate her calmness 🐶

I may be basis, however any Jack Russell will always have a very special place in my heart ♥️

I grew up with three generations of Jack Russells and now I have Bella who is part Jack Russell. Those bounds where one of a kind, they all have/had their own personalities and ones that will never be forgotten.

However don’t get me wrong I will look after any pooch, age / breed / gender / pup through to adulthood🐶 but dear Alfie, is just so sweet 🥹 and I feel so honoured to be looking after him. You would not believe it, he is 14 and this Is the second time I’ve cared for him and his energy levels are brilliant.

This year we have had some regular clients come through the doors at Daisy’s Paws 🐾 here are some pictures to show some of the fun we’ve had.

we certainly haven’t been as busy as we were last year around May which is when the doors officially opened and although we had a small break it’s still lovely to see people coming back, because I adore looking after their pooches very much ❤️

I’ve chosen not to advertise on other websites as I’d rather people knew about me word-of-mouth or contact me because someone they knows used my service before. I continue to appreciate everybody that tags me in posts. As then I might be able to help and it allows people to contact me for support of their dog/s or just off my service in some way.

We have had to hike the price up a bit because as much as it hurts me to have the charge people to look after their dogs when I love it so much and I would do it for free if I could. We just can’t afford to go on a lower end. I will always do my best to give you a deal where I can please know that. We appreciate it being a tough business to keep a float. However sadly we have some spaces now because people dropped out. I’d rather not charge as much in some situations it’s just all got to be feasible at the end of the day, and I hope people understand I promise I’m not trying to make it difficult for anyone.
However I continue to encourage you to think about me to look after your pooch because I promise you they will have a lovely time and they will be truly cared for here. Or just continue to tell your friends or people you see asking for pet care🥰

I also gently remind you again that I’ll probably be looking to stop Dog caring around September although I do have a bit of a busy month in September so please don’t book me for September but I will be back after baby is born but you’ll have to keep your eyes open for when that may be ❤️
