I’m Sue and I am the founder of Island Pooches.
I’ve been a seamstress all my life and have always loved designing and altering clothes, it’s been a life long passion.

I set up Stitch in time in 2015 doing design & alterations for lovely customers all around the Island. I’ve been commissioned to make upholstery and curtains for yaughts, I’ve made kit for popular indie car racing teams, I’ve made beautiful coverings for prosthetic limbs and also made intimate clothings for the trans community - the last few years have certainly been varied and exciting!

I lost my dear husband Billy to cancer in 2019. I really struggled some days but my sewing and alterations, (along with my family and friends), has always been the motivation that gets me up out of bed each day.

Over the years I’ve been asked many many times to make items of dog clothing. I just didn’t have the time before. Due to the pandemic I’ve been unable to see customers for alterations. I decided to use the spare time I had to design my first doggie clothing range, made up my prototypes and Island Pooches was born!

Each coat is made to measure by me for your pup. I ask for specific measurements to ensure that each item fits perfectly and looks amazing. If you have any questions about a coat for your pooch please feel free to message me, I will always get back to you.
