Although I’m currently over 5,000 miles away in India 🇮🇳it gives me huge peace of mind knowing my horses are receiving the very best care possible back home.
A massive thank you to Emma Leeding for looking after them so incredibly well day in, day out — there’s nobody I trust more with them. The level of care, attention and dedication is second to none.
On top of that, the horses are having outstanding physiotherapy sessions with Sune du Toit & Associates, led by Chartered Physiotherapist & Veterinary Physiotherapist Sune du Toit. With nearly 20 years of experience, Sune brings an incredible multi-disciplinary approach to equine rehabilitation and performance care.
Based near Newark, Nottingham, Sune is qualified in BSc Physiotherapy and registered with CSP, HPC, ACPAT and RAMP, providing physiotherapy for both horses and riders. The treatment and rehabilitation programmes are unbelievably thorough, using hands-on physiotherapy alongside acupuncture, kinesiology taping, laser & ultrasound therapy, massage and targeted exercises to achieve the best possible results.
What makes the service even more exceptional is the constant communication — I receive full written updates and videos explaining the daily exercises, what areas they are targeting and the progress being made. It’s an unbelievable level of professionalism and commitment.
I will need to see Sune when I get back for my own MOT session on my own body (I have been working out very hard in the hotel everyday while I’ve been here)
But it’s because of the team around me, I know that when I get home, the horses will be happy, healthy, strong and ready for me to crack on with riding and get back out competing as soon as they’re ready.
It really is all about surrounding yourself with the right people, and I genuinely do not take any of it for granted.
It’s actually been a long and lonely trip this time, language barriers have been more challenging in this area of India then previously and it’s been a lot of work - hotel - work - sleep - repeat, but I do love it, but I have to say a massive thank you to those of you who have taken the time to stay in contact and those sending your great updates (positive and challenging) and thanks to those who have given me the opportunity to support you from afar and what great results have been achieved 👏 you know who you are x
I know I’m extreamly lucky to get these amazing opportunities to travel and work, doing what I love so much but it’s not always as glamorous as it seems, but as always I am very grateful. Just one more week to go ! And I cannot wait to see mum and Pete Clifford as well as my cheeky little kittens. ❤️
