Highly recommend this first aid course for anyone who owns or works with dogs. You always hope you will never need to administer first aid but having the knowledge on how to, really can be the difference between life and death with your pets.

Sharing for your awareness. I have read quite a few horror stories over the years of this happening and dogs sadly dying through strangulation, very scary thought but preventable 💜🐾

Dog Collar Strangulation

It takes one move, one moment, the wrong way....and this "playing" can turn from a photo captured, to a deadly encounter in seconds. The jaw goes one way, the collar goes the other....a tooth gets hooked, or the jaw gets stuck...and then....they alligator roll trying to get out of the situation, and they're entangled.

This can be an incredibly dangerous situation to try to intervene for a person, because each dog thinks they're being attacked, and the go into an aggressive mode (even the sweetest dog) because they're desperately trying to "get away" and break free.

Dog Collars serve a purpose, however, they should also be used "safely" and unfortunately to many company's, manufacturers, and stores do not provide warning labels, or information about collar safety. Share this post, help those you know about dog collar safety. Just one share, could save a life...

REMEMBER:
🐾NEVER kennel/crate your dog with a collar on
🐾Remove collars during play
🐾Remove collars when your dogs are home alone unattended
& ⛑️learn canine firstaid

🥶⛄️ SNOW DISRUPTIONS ⛄️🥶

For anyone who can’t, or would prefer not to venture out to make their groom in this bad weather please don’t hesitate to let me know and we can reschedule.

Many side roads and some main roads are very bad with snow and ice so if you have any issues just let me know. As always the safety of you and your dogs come first and I fully understand that many of you might be unable to, or are not comfortable driving and walking in these conditions.

I have cleared my paths to the salon to help but Mosstodloch roads are very snowy and haven’t been cleared just to make you aware.

Thank you all for another wonderful year and for trusting me with your beloved dogs. They are all amazing and I love seeing how they grow and blossom 🥰

I truly love my Dirty dog family, over the years we have laughed, cried and shared in good times and the low times. You are all truly amazing, as are your dogs.

I know Christmas is hard for many of you for lots of reasons, sadly some of you lost family members and dogs over the year and I will be thinking of you all over the holidays, be gentle with yourself ❤️

Wishing you all a merry Christmas and a happy new year, and as always please give your dogs a big hug on Christmas Day from me 🥰🎅🏻🐾

Baxter says one more working week till Christmas holidays…. and what a busy week it is! My last working day is Monday 22nd December, the time is flying in. All Christmas photos are being sent directly to clients and they all look oh so beautiful 😍

Baxter was in for his bath and blow dry and all handsome for Santa paws coming 🎅🏻🥰❤️
