🥹 One last cuddle before the holidays…

With Muddies about to close for our family summer holiday, Quintin is making sure he gets every last bit of doggy affection in before daycare finishes. ❤️🐾

Even besties Harvey and Carlos have called a temporary truce. No wrestling. No games of chase. No arguing over who gets what. Just a brief and exceptionally rare moment of cooperation as they squeeze in as many human cuddles as possible before we disappear. 😂

Judging by this photo, Quintin isn’t exactly objecting either.

One small problem… we’re not entirely sure who’s going to miss whom more. 🥰

Now, boys, can we maintain this friendship truce until closing time? We’re not optimistic. 😜

🦴 A quiet day in the Muddies office… sort of. 😂

We usually have the pleasure of Mr Bones keeping us company while we work. Admittedly, he’s seen better days and, after several weeks of the kids’ summer holidays, he’s starting to look suspiciously like we feel. 💀😵‍💫

But today we’ve been treated to some living company too. 🐾❤️

While the rest of the Muddies crew are downstairs escaping the heat and generally causing the sort of chaos that makes you question whether “resting indoors” has been lost in translation, Olly has made the far more sophisticated choice.

Peace and quiet. A nice cool office. Human company. And Mr Bones, who is absolutely no threat whatsoever to his personal space. 😌

Judging by that little face, Olly appears rather pleased with his decision.

Meanwhile downstairs… we’ll just pretend we can’t hear anything. 🙉😂

☀️ A little break from the sunshine… and straight into the cuddles. 🥰🐾

After making the most of another gorgeous summer’s day, Quintin and Milo have retreated indoors for some much-needed respite from the sun.

And for Milo, there’s an added bonus: Quintin cuddles. Lots of Quintin cuddles. ❤️

Being away from your humans on your summer holidays can mean temporarily losing your usual supply of snuggles, so Quintin has very kindly stepped in as Milo’s substitute cuddle provider. We’re not sure it quite makes up for missing his family… but judging by that little face, it’s certainly helping. 🥹

One very content little holidaymaker, one very willing human pillow, and absolutely no concept of personal space. 😂

That’s the lovely thing about home boarding at Muddies – when our dogs stay with us, they’re not tucked away somewhere separate. They become part of family life… cuddles and all. 🏡🐶❤️

Every pack has its own way of surviving a glorious British summer’s day.

Then there’s Milo…

Front row. Full sunshine. Biggest grin imaginable. If dogs could order a sun lounger and a mocktail, he’d already have both. ☀️🍹

And then there’s Max…

Can you even spot him? 👀

Let’s play a quick game of “Find the massive black fluffy dog.” Hint: he’s strategically positioned in the coolest, shadiest corner of the garden, wondering why anyone would voluntarily sit in direct sunlight.

Two dogs.
One garden.
Completely opposite holiday philosophies.

Weekend Doggy Daycare is in full swing, and Milo is making the most of the start of his summer holiday boarding with us, while Max is perfecting the ancient art of staying cool and doing absolutely nothing. 😴🐾

🛟 Max: Lifeguard, Bodyguard… Dragonfly Defence Specialist. 🐾😂

Every explorer needs a trusted sidekick.

As Quintin set off to investigate the little stream, Max was never far behind, carefully shadowing his every step.

After all, someone had to keep watch for the truly terrifying dangers lurking ahead…

A rogue dragonfly.
A suspicious reed.
Or, heaven forbid… a tsunami-sized ripple. 🌊😱

Thankfully, thanks to Max’s unwavering dedication, Quintin completed his expedition completely unscathed.

Mission accomplished.

With his human safely escorted through the great wilderness, Max clocked off for the day, returned to the riverbank and enjoyed a well-earned rest.

Being a full-time bodyguard is exhausting work. 💚🐶

🪨 Hollywood, we think you’ve found your next Rock Biter… 🎬😂

With the remake of The NeverEnding Story reportedly in the works, Carlos has decided to throw his paw into the ring for the role of the Rock Biter.

His audition is… unconventional.

Rather than towering over mountains, he’s chosen to lie flat on the ground, casually chewing what appears to be a rather suspicious-looking rock with the dedication of a seasoned method actor.

We’re not entirely convinced the director was looking for quite such a relaxed interpretation of the role… but points for originality! 😆

Does anyone have a contact in Hollywood? We think this young man deserves at least a screen test.

P.S. No rocks were actually eaten during the making of this video… despite Carlos’ best efforts. 😂🐾

💦 Cooling off… the Muddies way! ☀️🐾

With the UK heatwave still hanging around, we’re making the most of the wonderfully cool River Wandle. Thankfully, there’s still plenty of water flowing, giving the gang the perfect excuse to cool off, rehydrate and escape the midday heat.

Well… those that actually enjoy getting wet.

River has only one thing on her mind… THE BALL. 🎾 Once fetch begins, everything else becomes secondary. Poor Max soon discovers this when River quite happily uses his head as a stepping stone in pursuit of her beloved tennis ball. Priorities, Max… priorities! 😂

Carlos, meanwhile, is having absolutely none of it. Getting wet is clearly against household policy. He remains firmly on dry land, determined to return home looking as pristine as he left. Muddy paw prints? Not on his watch.

Then there’s Milo. Half a paddle? Fine. Full immersion? Absolutely not. He’d much rather patrol the riverbank, providing a running commentary than discovering his inner scuba diver. 📣🐶

Every dog has their own way of surviving a summer’s day… and we wouldn’t have it any other way. 💚

🌿 Max’s five-star spa treatment… courtesy of Mother Nature. 😂

Who needs a dog groomer when you’ve got a perfectly good meadow?

Max has discovered the ultimate self-care routine…

Step 1: Flop dramatically onto the grass.
Step 2: Wiggle enthusiastically from side to side.
Step 3: Apply a generous blend of dry grass, crunchy leaves and a light dusting of dirt.
Step 4: Repeat until thoroughly “pampered.”

Apparently, this is far superior to expensive shampoos and fancy brushes.

We can’t say we’d recommend his beauty regime… but judging by that blissful expression, Max would happily give it five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sometimes the best spa days are the muddiest ones. 🐾💚

🎾 River’s emergency snack break… 😂

After an action-packed game of fetch, River disappeared into the long grass for what looked like a well-earned rest.

Or so we thought.

Nope… she’d actually stopped for a quick snack.

Not biscuits.
Not treats.
Not lunch.

Her tennis ball. 🎾😋

The determination on her face would have you believe she hadn’t eaten for days… when, in reality, breakfast was only a few hours ago!

Perhaps she’s convinced that if she chews it long enough, it’ll magically turn into a roast chicken. We admire the optimism. 😆

River just likes to marinate hers before the next throw. 🐾💚

🍽️ The Muddies Dinner Committee has assembled… 🐶👀

The humans made one classic mistake today…

They sat down to eat.

Within seconds, the Muddies Dinner Committee was in full attendance. Carlos, River, Naru, Harvey and Milo all gathered around, staring with absolute concentration. No barking. No fuss. Just five pairs of hopeful eyes silently willing food to fall from the table.

Carlos was focused on the mission. Harvey backed him up. Naru stood patiently, convinced good manners would pay off. Milo looked ready to volunteer as official taste tester.

Then there was River…

While everyone else concentrated on securing a snack, River decided Carlos himself looked far more interesting, interrupting his negotiations with an enthusiastic barrage of kisses and cuddles.

Carlos couldn’t have looked more offended.

“River… this is no time for affection. We’re conducting serious food acquisition negotiations here!” 😂

Needless to say, the humans remained unmoved. The dogs remained hopeful. And not a single crumb was surrendered… at least not while the camera was rolling. 😉
