โ ๏ธ Hot Weather Update โ ๏ธ
Due to the high temperatures today, there will be no dog walks for the safety and wellbeing of the dogs. Instead, all walks will be changed to house visits where Iโll make sure your dogs are comfortable, have fresh water, toilet breaks, enrichment, and plenty of fuss ๐ถ๐
Please remember:
โ๏ธ Avoid walking dogs during the hottest parts of the day
๐ง Keep plenty of fresh water available
๐ณ Stay in shaded/cool areas
๐ง Cooling mats, damp towels, paddling pools, and frozen treats can help keep dogs comfortable
Signs of heatstroke in dogs can include:
โ Excessive panting
โ Drooling
โ Lethargy or weakness
โ Vomiting or diarrhoea
โ Bright red gums
โ Collapse or confusion
If you suspect heatstroke:
โ
Move your dog somewhere cool immediately
โ
Offer small amounts of cool water
โ
Pour cool (not ice cold) water over paws, tummy, and body
โ
Use fans if possible
โ
๏ธDogs that are cooled before going to a vets have a higher chance of survival
โ
Contact your vet straight away โ heatstroke can become life-threatening very quickly
Thank you for understanding โ your dogsโ safety always comes first ๐พ
