This is why our Puppy Package exists for desensitisation!

Breeders that are telling you not to touch the coat until 6 months are so wrong.

It’s the whole process that your pup needs to get used to, handling, sounds, touch, feels - grooming is a complete sensory experience.

Start them as early as possible for lifelong success. The coat of grooming should be taken into consideration when taking on a puppy/dog

They need to be trimmed…yes even the scary black ones.

Regular trimming of nails is essential for a healthy dog. Ideally every two to four weeks!

Long nails can cause painful toes, they can be easily knocked causing damage to the nail.

Long nails can cause a dog to move in different ways to avoid them being as painful, this can the lead to misalignment in their joints which can lead to arthritis

The longer the nail is, the longer that the blood vessel (quick) inside the nail is and the more likely you are to make it bleed.

Trimming nails little and often encourages the quick to receed back, so over time the nails can become shorter and shorter.

In the salon we use a mixture of clipping, filing and grinding. Depending on what your dog is used to and will tolerate.

Handle your dog’s feet at home, rewards them often and help desensitise them to the process. The more regular you book in for nails trims the happier your dog will be.

Walk in appointments are available for nail trims as part of our Express Services 🐾 £15

Phewwwweeee it is HOT out there….

Here’s what we do to keep your dog safe in our care

❄️ we have a portable air con unit which gets wheeled out every summer like a special guest!
🌳 we’re very lucky that the salon is in a shady spot so it has natural shade (upstairs is hot, just as a heads up if you plan on using the hot desk - currently very hot!)
💧we turn the temperature down on the bath and the dryers
📋 we constantly assess your dog and the salon conditions we might make appointments slightly longer to accommodate breaks!

We will never

❌ groom a dog that we suspect has heatstroke or has recently suffered!
❌ ask your dog to walk to the salon, please don’t do this!

We may move appointments around slight, although this can be frustrating please try and work with us so that we can maintain our lovely salon environment

* if you think your dog may have heatstroke seek veterinary advice immediately *
