This weekend some of the kids on our yard completed their pony stars awards. They have been working through these books...

This weekend some of the kids on our yard completed their pony stars awards. They have been working through these books all year with Dawn from DMB Equine Coaching and Care their final task was to organise and run an event. So putting into practice what they have learnt from the they hosted a dressage competition. They got the experience of judging, reading and riding on the day and encouraged other adult liveries to take part. We had a great turnout. The parents provided food and hot drinks with the last minute help from Archers bakery, Brandesburton. When we couldn't find any paper cups. They also sorted out the rosettes from the The Rosette Lady prizes from the wonderful Melwood pets & Grooming and the entries. Thanks parents for all your help and support. Emma, a livery also provided handmade bobble hats for the winners which will come in use now we are headed into winter.
Thankfully the weather was on our side and a great day was had by all. All money made is going to be donated to 2 charities Yorkshire Air Ambulance and . We aren't sure what we have made yet but I'll let you all know when we have a total. Finally thanks to all the liveries who took part or helped or donated in some way.

As the summer season is coming to an end I have a few more congratulations to liveries posts to do. This summer has been a good year for our dressage riders. We have had placings and qualifications at the Area Festivals and this weekend we had a great time at the Quest semi finals with our My Quest riders placing really well and our kids team finishing it off with a great placing too.

Well done to everyone for a fun filled summer season.

We have just had a great weekend. Yearly we take a group of liveries to Thorngumbald show it's a great local show which raises money for charity the organisers do a fantastic job. The kids tell me its their version of HOYS!!
Over the past 2 years I've had the pleasure of watching our kids grow and develop with their ponies. 2 years ago both of these children were on lead rein and very nervous. They did all the fun classes, the smallest jumping classes and fancy dress.
2 years later these same kids have grown in confidence and ability doing bigger jumping classes, coming Working Hunter Champion, doing proper ridden showing classes coming Reserve Champion of the ridden ring and ultimately coming Supreme Show Champion.
Well done kids it's great watching you progress and seeing you have fun on your ponies.
