What a fantastic Social Dog Club session last night! 🐾

We had four very different dogs join us, each bringing their own personalities, challenges and strengths to the group!

There were a few spicy moments along the way 🌢️ but what really stood out was how quickly everyone recovered and got back to making great choices!

One of the things I love most about Social Dog Club is watching the dogs learn to regulate their emotions around lots of different personalities and dogs at different stages of their training journey πŸ™πŸ»

Real life isn't full of perfectly matched dogs, so it's important they learn how to navigate all sorts of social situations in a safe and supportive environment 🐢

The biggest highlight though? An unlikely friendship that nobody saw coming! πŸ₯Ή

Otto, the shouty adolescent, and Ella, our nervous little lady! I've got my eye on this pair... πŸ‘€πŸ₯°

Watching confidence grow, dogs make positive associations and owners celebrate those little wins is exactly why I love these sessions!

Every dog is on their own journey, and it's always amazing to see the progress they make, no matter how big or small 🌟

A huge well done to everyone who came along. Your dogs are lucky to have such dedicated humans by their side πŸ’š

If you're struggling with your dog, you don't have to do it on your own.

Drop us a message and take that first step towards calmer, more enjoyable walks πŸ•

"People with reactive dogs just need to train them more..."

Honestly? This rhetoric does my head in! πŸ™ƒ

Because most reactive dog owners aren’t doing β€œnothing”...

They’re doing everything.

Getting up early when the world is quiet enough to manage a walk.

Changing routes. Crossing roads. Planning ahead constantly.

Attending classes, reading, researching, learning, trying and adjusting to a life with their dog that looks very different to what they imagined.

All so their dog can cope a little better in a world that feels like too much.

But people don’t see that.

They see the barking. The lunging. The explosion in a split second... and assume that’s the whole story.

Not the months of effort leading up to it.

Not the emotional toll behind it.

Not the tiny bits of progress that no one else would even notice.

Just the moment it all falls apart.

That’s why Social Dog Club exists.

Not for perfect dogs... for real ones.

And for the owners doing the hard work behind the scenes.

A space to talk honestly, celebrate the small wins, and actually practise skills where they matter most - in real life πŸ•

Because you shouldn’t have to figure it out alone.

And having a community that gets it? It changes everything.

If your dog struggles around other dogs or people, you don’t have to keep guessing your way through it.

We can help you build skills that actually work in the real world.

Well, it's certainly been a week at Team Teall πŸ˜…πŸ˜΄

Firstly, thank you all so much for the lovely messages, comments and well wishes for Tilly over the last week. They've meant so much πŸ’š

I'm very happy to report that Tilly is recovering at home beautifully - albeit a little bored already!

She's a little sore, a little sleepy, and definitely wondering why everyone keeps stopping her from doing all the things she normally loves to do... but she's doing incredibly well πŸ₯°

The last few days have been all about keeping her comfortable and helping her settle into recovery, which is why I've been a little quieter than usual.

As she continues to recover, I'll be getting back to work and catching up with messages over the coming days.

We've also got lots happening throughout June, including:

🐾 Workshops
🐾 1:1 training availability
🐾 Social Dog Club sessions
🐾 And a few other exciting opportunities to get involved

I'll be posting a full update very soon with everything that's coming up πŸ‘€

For now, I'm just incredibly grateful that the surgery is behind us and that she's recovering so well.

I'm looking forward to getting back into training, seeing some familiar faces, and sharing what we've got planned for the month ahead πŸΎπŸ’š

Massive thank you to you all for your well wishes for my wonderful girly πŸ₯°

Her surgery was successful and she's now back home, beginning her recovery journey πŸ’š

She's still a bit wobbly and not entirely sure what's happened to her, but she's doing well and taking everything in her stride.

I'm incredibly relieved that the operation is behind us now. Thank you all for the messages, support, and crossed fingers over the last few days - they've meant more than you know πŸ™πŸ»

For now, we're both embracing a slower pace, plenty of rest, and all the cuddles she can possibly demand πŸ₯°

Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for bearing with me over the last few days πŸ’š

My Tilly is in for her big operation today, so responses will be a little slower than usual, while she's recovering and I focus on getting her through these first few days.

For now, I'm full of worry, crossing everything I've got, and very much looking forward to being able to update you all later with a "she's ok!" post πŸ’š

Thank you for your patience and understanding 🫢🏻

When the world feels a bit much, making that world smaller isn't a failure.

And that applies to both ourselves and our dogs πŸ’š

My week has been pretty horrendous so far, and honestly, my nervous system feels completely shot.

So, I'm actually listening to my body's signals and allowing myself to ✨slow down✨

When I work with reactive or nervous dogs, one of the first things we often discuss is rest days.

Why?

Because constant stress keeps the body stuck in fight or flight mode.

Rest allows stress hormones to regulate and gives the nervous system a chance to calm down πŸ™πŸ»

Rest isn't failure.
It isn't unproductive.
And it certainly isn't lazy.

Rest is vital. In fact, it's often one of the most overlooked parts of both healing and training.

So over the next few days, the page may be a little quieter and replies a little slower while I take some time to recover.

Time to start listening to my own advice πŸ’š

🚩 "Harnesses cause pulling."

So why do dogs pull on everything else too? πŸ‘€

Here's the bit many people aren't ready to hear...

Your dog dragging you down the road for the last 2 years, is why they're good at pulling.

You've probably done the usual...

➑️ Bought a new lead
➑️ Tried a different gadget
➑️ Swapped the equipment

Hoping this one would finally be the magic fix.

Because here's the awkward question...

If harnesses cause pulling, why are there dogs walking beautifully on harnesses every single day?

And if slip leads stop pulling, why are there dogs hauling their owners down the street wearing those too? πŸ€”

The equipment isn't the problem.

The missing training is.

Every time your dog pulls and gets what they wanted...

🐾 The sniff
🐾 The tree
🐾 The dog
🐾 The squirrel
..they've just been rewarded for pulling.

It's a self reinforcing behaviour.

And every successful pull is another repetition.

Another chance to get better at the exact thing you're trying to stop.

That's why so many people spend years changing equipment but never actually solve the problem.

Because loose lead walking isn't found in a harness.

Or a slip lead.

Or a Halti.

It's taught.

And if you're fed up with feeling like a human sled every time you leave the house, my Loose Lead Walking Workshop will show you exactly what's keeping you stuck and how to fix it.

❌ No gimmicks
❌ No magic tools
❌ No quick fixes

βœ… Just practical training that makes walks easier.

Comment WALK and I'll send you the details 🐾πŸ”₯

25/05/2026

Loose lead walking is officially my most requested training topic right now! πŸ‘€

Every week, I'm speaking to owners who are fed up with being dragged down the road, ending walks frustrated, or avoiding them altogether.

The good news?

Loose lead walking is a skill.

And like any skill, it can be taught. 🐾

That's why I'm launching a Loose Lead Walking Workshop - a small group session dedicated entirely to helping you enjoy walks with your dog again.

βœ… Practical exercises you can use on real walks
βœ… Clear guidance on why your dog pulls
βœ… Individual coaching throughout the session
βœ… More affordable than private 1-1 training

🐢 Spaces are limited to keep the group small and ensure everyone gets individual support.

If you're tired of being towed down the street every time you pick up the lead, send me a message to secure your space.
