💛 Meet Honey 💛
Honey visited our Walkden team recently, and she’s one very special girl with quite a story to tell.
Despite everything she’s been through – including losing an eye and having investigations for a heart murmur and hearing concerns – Honey is still full of personality and charm. 🐾
She’s a wonderful reminder of just how resilient our pets can be, and we absolutely adored caring for her. ❤️
Sending lots of love to Honey and her family – she truly is one in a million! ✨

Meet lovely Evie 🐾💕
Evie came in to see us at our Salford practice for her pre-op check ahead of her spay, and she was an absolute star throughout! ⭐
She took everything in her stride, enjoyed lots of fuss from the team, and is now all set for her procedure.
Wishing you the smoothest surgery and a speedy recovery, Evie – we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way 💖🐱

Recently we welcomed these lovely patients for dental assessments and treatment — Brodie and Nigel! 🐶💙
Both boys were absolute stars throughout their visits 🌟 and received the care they needed to keep their teeth in great condition.
As you can see, both Brodie and Nigel stayed relaxed and content throughout their visit, and they were very well looked after (and a little bit spoilt!) by the team. 💙
They were both absolute stars, and we look forward to seeing them again soon!

🐾 Case Spotlight: Oral Mass Removal – Meet Zeke the Spaniel 🐾
Zeke, a lovely spaniel, came to us with a recurrent oral mass at the front of his mouth. The growth had been removed previously, but unfortunately had regrown larger this time—causing discomfort and occasional bleeding.
Following a full oral assessment under general anaesthesia, we were able to:
✨ Surgically remove the mass
🦷 Extract a small number of affected teeth
📸 Take dental X-rays to assess the entire mouth
✅ Thoroughly clean and polish the remaining teeth
At our practice, we have a certificate holder in dentistry and oral surgery, allowing us to manage more complex dental and oral conditions like Zeke’s with a high level of care.
The mass has been sent for histopathology to confirm the diagnosis, and we’ll continue to monitor Zeke closely going forward.

🐾 Dental Day with Toby the Spaniel 🐾
Toby the spaniel came in to see us for a dental treatment—and as you can see, he definitely made himself comfortable while he was here! 💙
And of course… no visit would be complete without plenty of belly rubs (check out the video!) 😄

🐾 Dental Spotlight: Slab Fractures 🐾
Slab fractures are a common type of tooth injury in dogs, where a large section of the tooth breaks away—often exposing the sensitive pulp inside. These fractures are painful and will not heal on their own.
What’s important to know is that not all fractures are visible during an awake examination. Many are only detected during a dental assessment under general anaesthesia, combined with dental X-rays 🦷🔍
During a full dental procedure, we are able to:
📸 Take detailed dental X-rays to assess the tooth and roots
🦷 Examine every surface of each tooth thoroughly
✨ Identify hidden or painful conditions that may otherwise go unnoticed
💡 This is why dental procedures under general anaesthesia are considered the gold standard in veterinary care.
Pets are very good at hiding pain, and significant dental disease can be missed without a detailed, pain-free examination.
Slab fractures are often caused by chewing on very hard objects such as antlers, bones, or stones. Choosing tooth-safe chew options can help reduce the risk.
At our practice, all dental procedures are supported by a certificate holder in dentistry and oral surgery, allowing us to provide a high level of care—from early detection through to advanced treatment.
