I lost my training mojo with my own dogs in recent months, but consider this as us back on the horse!

We have a new step, so I'll be teaching back foot targets for the next few weeks and see if we can get some tricks to do with this 😁

The squad currently know about 40 tricks, so this should be fairly easy for them 😁

I will be sharing progress as we go 😁

Your dog may not need MORE exercise, they may just need a different kind of exercise....

Its National Tea Day... and all of these exercises can be done whilst waiting for your morning brew....

Since we lost Oakley, I've kinda lost my training spark, so this is the perfect opportunity to get back in the game!

Spring has sprung, Pi has a photoshoot tomorrow 😏, Darwin has fresh eyes, and Ryder is alwats ready for any type of training, so its time to get back in the saddle and give these dogs more of my time! 🥰🐾

What goals will you be refreshing?

Growling isn’t bad behaviour.

It’s canine communication.

Dogs move through a series of signals before a bite ever happens — and when those signals are ignored or punished, they may feel they have no other option left.

Understanding your dog’s communication is one of the most important steps in preventing problems before they escalate, not to mention understanding their needs.

Advocating for our dog's shouldn't be saved for professionals. Every dog guardian should be able to read their dog and help them in any and all situations that could potentially lead to a bite.

Reubens owners wanted to stop him from getting over excited when people visit the home. This often led to jumping up, being vocal, and also nipping at the visitors as a result.

We started by ontroducing calm behaviours, plus some little game to play that would help him deal with self-control and frustration.

As you can see, I, as a visitor, was able to get down and get a picture of him at the end of our session.

Reports since our session yesterday have been very positive!

Most dog bites don’t come out of nowhere.

They happen after a series of signals… that are often missed.

Dogs are constantly communicating how they feel — through subtle changes in body language.

Turning away. Lip licking. Freezing.

These aren’t random behaviours… they’re early warning signs.

When those signals are ignored, dogs may feel they have no other option.

The good news?

Once you know what to look for, you can step in early — and prevent the situation from escalating.

👉 Learn the signs
👉 Respect the communication
👉 Prevent the bite

Save this so you can come back to it and alwats respect your dogs space.... More coming tomorrow 🙂

5 Star Review!

08/04/2026

Today is

Here at EpiphanyK9, we live a bull breed and this loving, caring and fiercely loyal breed are often the breeds of choice for these idiots.

🚩 Dog fighting can be happening in your neighbourhood, in gardens, garages or even basements.

🚩 Be vigilant for strange comings and goings at odd times of day, the same people, and different dogs.

🚩 Look for dogs with scars, particularly on the head, face and front legs.

🚩 Dog fighting isn't known for being a noisy sport, but you may be able to hear dogs barking but never see them.

Always report any suspicious activity to your local authority, don't be put off by the current state of our public services... Eventually they will have to do something with enough reports 👍

Today was Buttons' final session with us, and he did such an amazing job!

He has BIG feelings around other dogs and people and kids and birds and anything else that moves, pretty much like all puppies 😅

We worked through some real-life practical skills for when those big feelings become "naughty" behaviours such as jumping up, mouthing, nipping etc...

Buttons has landed himself a really hood support system, I can't wait to see how he grows and progresses 🥹🐾🫶

Last week, Buttons learned how to be off lead and still under control for the first time!

He did very well, and so did his people!

We worked through how to deal with distractions, how to help him when he became wary of strange new things in the environment, and also how to notice when he was becoming distracted by noises, sights, smells etc that can take a young puppies attention away from his people.

Recognizing the signs early and bringing his focus back can help to keep him under control in a public place but also keep him safe by not giving in to temptation whilst still having the freedom to run and explore.
