Introduction to Truffle Hunting workshop with Emma Conlisk.
Tuesday 16th June 2026
Venue - Beautiful private woodland in the WR12 area.
Many of you already know Emma and Rupert who compete at the highest stage of the National Nosework Association Trials. Emma is also a Scentwork Instructor.
In their spare time, Emma and Rupert hunt for truffles and have taken 1st place two years in a row at the UK Truffle Hunting Championships. They currently hold the titles of UK and Great British Truffle Hunting Champions.
What to expect:-
During the workshop, you’ll learn about truffles, the areas of the country they’re found in, and the conditions that support their growth, with a particular focus on soil types.
Whilst no naturally growing truffles will be present, you’ll have the opportunity to search for truffle oil soaks and real truffles that Emma will have buried (if available).
Skills you’ll develop include:
• Helping dogs recognise and work truffle odour
• Ground searching and effective handler–dog teamwork to cover areas efficiently and thoroughly
• Building confidence and skills when searching areas of different sizes
This is suitable for teams who are already searching confidently and with focus in outdoor environments.
We will have an AM and a PM group session with a working discussion lunch from 12:30- 1:30pm open to both groups.
The workshop will be in the WR12 area with parking/toilets/kitchen and seating facilities
The cost of the Truffle hunting workshop experience is £80
