A day in the life of a DofE volunteer...

Volunteering with us, means getting stuck in to all of the jobs we have to do.

A short video showing a DofE volunteer mixing feeds for the ponies, putting out hay, restoring the electric fence, putting up haynets, digging out ragwort, calmly catching horses and practicing leading.

Everything we do is to help the young person understand basic pony care and build their confidence. 💫

We are really grateful for their help and proud to see how much they change and grow over the time they spend with us.

Moved the Pershore Ponies back to the wood field today, to let them enjoy some of new grass.

Apologies for the heavy breathing. It is only 220ish metres but leading a herd of 30 at canter is quite the sprint for me 🐌.

Poor Sadie, she is normally at the front so coming in flat last was some what of a new experience for her🐎

Coco was keen to inspect the hay I brought to the yard today.

Honestly, the second a trailer or lorry shows up, Coco does his best to climb aboard, he just loves to be involved.

Pickles and Patch did their own quality checks...of the tasting nature.

The big herd got wind that 2026 is the year of the horse. They couldn't wait to audition to be "poster-pony" of the year.

It isn't Christmas until we have put a silly hat on one of the ponies and donned the shetland Christmas jumper.

Today was Tiny Tank's turn, she was definitely more interested in having chin scritches than posing for a picture.
