Meet Indi 🖤🐾

Indi has regular physiotherapy sessions to assist with his rehabilitation following a rupture of his cruciate ligament. In his sessions, Indi has a variety of treatments, including:
🐾Laser therapy
🐾Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT)
🐾Heat therapy
🐾Massage therapy
🐾Passive range of motion exercises
🐾 Stretching
🐾Remedial exercises (such as poles, weaves, weight shifting exercises, sit to stands, and more!)

As you can see, he really settles into his sessions and LOVES his treatments! 😆 Indi always sleeps through his sessions, he's a super chilled boy and is such a pleasure to treat! He's already making good progress and I look forward to seeing him progress further as time goes on 🤍

Meet the gorgeous Ember! 🤍🐾

Ember has been coming for regular physiotherapy and hydrotherapy sessions since having her forelimb amputated. Ember was previously a stray, who was found by a member of the public and then brought into Clarks Farm Greyhound Rescue. Ember was taken straight to the vets due to a break in her forelimb, sadly the injury was a few weeks old by the time she was found, so amputation was the best route for Ember. This hasn't stopped Ember! She is one of the happiest dogs I've ever met, and she's now living her best life with her lovely owners Liam and Kelly🤍 Ember has adapted very well to being a tripod, and now receives regular sessions for maintenance to ensure she remains comfortable, maintains her joint mobility and to enhance her strength to support her throughout her life.

Meet the beautiful Amber (featuring her sister Jammers!) 🧡🤍

Amber has been having regular physiotherapy sessions to help manage her lower spine, after x-rays showed some areas of compression in her vertebrae. Amber is feeling much more comfortable now, with both pain relief and regular physiotherapy sessions on board. Amber previously had quite a lot of sensitivity and reactivity throughout the spinal column and surrounding musculature, with spasms in the hindlimb musculature also. As a result of this, Amber's musculature mass was reduced in the lower spine and hindlimbs, with reduced engagement of both hindlimbs. However, Amber is now very comfortable and has regained musculature mass through her spinal and hindlimb musculature, and her co-ordination in the hind is much improved! Amber is very lucky to have such dedicated humans who've been brilliant with ensuring she's comfortable and getting her back to her old self! 🐾 Amber is such a happy girl and enjoys coming for her sessions, and she always takes herself straight to the mat and lies down ready for her treatments! I always love seeing Amber for her monthly sessions 🧡🥰

Meet Mali & Tammy! 🤎🤍

Mali and Tammy both recently had their first sessions for maintenance physiotherapy, and they were both such a pleasure to assess and treat!

The treatments included within their sessions were laser therapy, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT), massage therapy and stretching. Tammy & Mali's owners have been given some home therapies and pole exercises to continue to target the areas of tension, restrictions and weakness found within their assessments.

Meet the beautiful Willow! 🤎🐾

Willow is a 14-year-old Cocker Spaniel, who has been having physiotherapy for 2 years now, and has also just started coming for hydrotherapy sessions! When I first started seeing Willow for physiotherapy, she had recently been discharged from the RVC for suspected compression of the spinal cord (myelopathy) from T3-L3, with one of the main suspected causes being disc extrusion/herniation.

Willow receives a variety of treatments to continue to manage her comfort and joint mobility, including:
🤎Laser therapy
🤎Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMFT)
🤎Heat therapy
🤎Massage therapy
🤎Passive range of motion exercises
🤎Poles, weaves, and more remedial exercises!

Meet Ruby!🩶🥰

Ruby is a gorgeous 6-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who had her initial assessment session yesterday. Ruby has a suspected muscular strain of the Quadriceps in her left hindlimb, after having chased a rabbit. Ruby received both laser and PEMFT onto the sore areas and onto tighter areas from compensations, and carried out some remedial exercises to help her better engage the left hindlimb during movement. Her owner will also be following a home therapy plan to target the discomfort in the Quadriceps, as well as gradually increasing the tone of the musculature (which has reduced in mass due to reduced weight bearing and inefficient use of the limb). I look forward to seeing Ruby progress and to gradually work up to getting her back into agility! She's such a beautiful and loveable girl 🤍🐾

Tongue Out Thursday! 😜 featuring the beautiful Una! 🤎🐴

Una recently had her initial assessment session, and she was such a pleasure to treat! Una had a variety of treatments, including:
🤎 Laser therapy
🤎Pulsed electromagnetic field therapy
🤎Massage therapy
🤎Stretching
🤎Tail pull stretches
🤎Belly lifts

These treatments aimed to target areas of tension throughout the body, with most of the focus on the spinal musculature for her first session! She relaxed wonderfully into her treatments 🥰

Meet Quest! 🤎🐴

Quest is a gorgeous ex-racehorse who recently had his initial assessment session. Upon assessment, Quest was found to have multiple of tension and sensitivity, especially along the left side of the body. The main findings were areas of excessive tension at the poll, lower neck, shoulder and throughout the spinal musculature, with consistent reactivity throughout. These areas were treated with laser therapy, massage therapy and stretches. Quest's owner will also be closely following a home therapy plan to target these areas, by using heat, massage, stretching, and he will also be having the saddle fitter out to ensure it is correctly fitted since undergoing weight/musculature changes throughout the winter period. Following his treatments, the reactivity and tension in the areas mentioned were much reduced. I look forward to watching Quest's progress!

Had a brilliant time this week attending a very eye opening CPD course with Megan, focusing on the safe and ethical treatment of exotic species! (Organised by Matthew at Shackleton Veterinary Physiotherapy and Lauren & Caitlin at )

I thoroughly enjoyed the course!☺️ It has been a great insight into how Veterinary Physiotherapy can benefit exotic species, and has given me a greater understanding of the aspects to consider if approached by exotic cases (including effective history taking, assessment, treatments and application of exercises). The team were lovely & all very knowledgable!! I feel as though I have gained so much knowledge and important practical skills whilst on this course, and I cannot wait to apply what I have learnt into exotic cases! It has also given me some brilliant ideas on how to adapt my treatment methods and ways to implement effective exercises in some domestic pets (especially those that prefer less hands on treatments or nervous pets).

Meet Clown & Rose! 🤍🤎

I had the pleasure of treating this gorgeous pair last week! Both were so good for their initial assessments 🥰

Clown (pictured first) had a few areas of reactivity and tension above the last few ribs, throughout the lumbar region and around the SI joint. He also was tense within the left hindlimb (especially within the Biceps Femoris) and his gait was quite short/restricted within the trotting gait, more so in the hind. Clown received a combination of treatments to target these areas, including laser therapy, PEMFT, massage therapy and stretches. Clown will be having regular Physiotherapy treatment to continue to target these areas!

Rose (pictured second) had a few areas of tension, including in the lower back (lumbar region) and within the Hamstrings down the back of both hindlimbs. There were also areas of oedema at the back of both hock joints, and she had a small area of oedema/scar tissue in the middle of her right hindlimb. Rose also received laser therapy, PEMFT, massage therapy and stretches to target the areas mentioned. She will also have regular maintenance sessions to keep on top of these areas!

I look forward to watching the two of them progress! Clown & Rose’s owner is very dedicated to them both and will be following home therapies between their sessions to targeted the areas discussed. Aren’t they just such a beautiful pair!?🥰

Meet Albert! 🤍🩶

Albert is a very handsome 6-year-old Old English Sheepdog! Albert recently came for his initial assessment session to assess for areas of pain. In his assessment, Albert appeared to show signs of discomfort/tension around both hip joints and his lower spine. At his recent vet visit, hip dysplasia was suspected by the veterinarian and pain relief was prescribed (prior to the session). As there appears to be consistent findings with hip discomfort, Albert received laser therapy and PEMFT in the lower spine/hips to help promote comfort of these areas. Albert's owners were also given some home therapies to target these areas at home further. He was a lovely boy to treat! 😍🐾

Beautiful boy Bailey enjoying his initial physiotherapy session in the sunshine the other day 🐴☀️
Bailey received laser therapy, PEMFT and some gentle stretches to target the areas of tension in his lower spine and to help reduce restrictions/crepitus within his fetlock joints. He was such a good boy for his treatments! He even showed off some of his favourite tricks😆 just look at that smile!! 🤎
