Dogs don’t speak English.

That might seem obvious for some but I think some owners genuinely believe their dog understands them when they’re “telling them off”

Guess what?
Your dog doesn’t.

They may understand your body language, the change of smell, your energy and whatever else you’re “giving off”
But they don’t understand what you are saying

I had a session today and him and EVERY SINGLE one of my clients talks to their dog way too much.

Including myself!

Now that’s not to say don’t talk to them or praise them verbally.

But know they don’t understand big long conversations you might have and sometimes we’re better off just saying nothing!

I made a LOT of mistakes with Tiggy.

And I don’t regret any of them.

You see mistakes aren’t mistakes if you do something about them. They’re lessons to improve the next time you try them.

I did something about my mistakes and it changed my life.

I’ve now helped almost 30 puppies in less than 3 months because of these mistakes.

Tiggy is now a drug detection dog because of these mistakes.

I’ve improved as a handler, an owner and as a person

If you make mistakes, don’t complain about them. Do something about them.

There are over 10 million dog training methods.⁠⁠

Dog trainers spend years perfecting their profession to know the different psychological problems to help that individual dog.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
If there are approx 10 million dogs in this world. That means there are 10 million methods.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Sure, you might go through the same step process of working on your relationship & leash walking first before going into a new environment⁠⁠
⁠⁠
HOWEVER - the reason and the process is still different.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Some are older, some are younger, some live with kids and some don't. Some are over excited, some have genetic nerve.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Guaranteed I will get asked by every client about puppy biting, however, the method will be different because some have a harder bite, some are more sensitive, some are under stimulated and so on and so forth.⁠⁠

One size does not fit all.⁠⁠
⁠⁠

Gundog training day 1 🤗

I finally got to meet Bear & Eilidh from !

I’ve been so excited to meet these guys and today I was finally able to!

We got started on gundog training foundations and covered SO much!

From spinal alignment, cast offs, holds, heelwork, sits, steadiness!

Tiggy was SHATTERED afterwards and was falling asleep throughout the snoots group training class 😂

We also covered recall from other dogs and just co existing. Which again, she was amazing with!

It’s given me loads of confidence seeing her off leash, 100% reliable and completely uninterested in other dogs

Dog trainers are always learning and perfecting their skill! And I’ve barely stepped out of the foundations when it comes to dog training

I have so much to learn and can’t wait to see Eilidh on a regular (hopefully weekly) basis to improve our gundog training which goes perfectly alongside our drug detection training

Thank you so much, . Can’t wait to see you in a couple of weeks 🤩

Stop rushing.

Have you ever asked yourself why your dog doesn’t check in with you?

Or maybe you love the idea of having a sharp recall

Perhaps you want to be able to go to a busy park and instead of your dog bolting, they turn around almost asking what you expect from them

Well all these things takes time.
It takes patience and consistency

Don’t try once and give up

Tiggy used to be reactive. Well a year later she’s now a working dog and helps reactive dogs every week without a single reaction

Stop giving up because your dog doesn’t understand what you want from them straight away

Keep going.
Keep getting the reps in.
And eventually, your hard work will definitely pay off ✨

I’ve loved watching this team grow throughout the 4 week programme and I’m so proud how far they’ve come in such a short space of time

Suzie graduated!

I had such an honour to work with Suzie and her incredible owners. They’ve worked extremely hard and in just 4 weeks Suzie has gone from an over excited dog who was distracted by everything to one who’s far less distracted and has amazing impulse control now!

Here’s what they had to say about the programme:

A great course for puppies and young dogs.
Within four weeks, we saw a real progression in Suzie. She improved from a dog that struggled with her impulse control, to a dog that has begun to get it under control.
