These last few weeks at Charnwood have felt very different as unfortunately the team has been faced with some absolutely devastating news that Rachel Barr the former owner sadly passed away.

This is an incredibly tough time for the family and team however as a team we have ensured all pets are cared for with as much love as we give our own pets.

So we just ask that if things seem alittle different and there are new faces appearing that everyone just bares with the team during the transition period of new ownership.

Jazzmin Barr, Rachel’s eldest daughter has taken the responsibility of becoming the new owner of Charnwood Kennels and Cattery.
As a team we plan to thrive through this tough time and make Rachel proud.

Yes it’s nearly that time of year again!
We are already taking many bookings for Christmas and New Year.

We have completed all of the maintenance and are open as usual.
We have however, updated our paperwork again I’m afraid.
This will cause a delay on processing arrivals and departures.
However, the new registration form is available to download and print out from our website boardingkennelsblackpool.com
If you bring it ready completed it will help us speed things up.
We apologise for this but it is to improve record keeping and smooth running of things.

Please find our 2025 price list.
We are aware it is more than it is usually but we have entered VAT.
As we sell “empty space”, there is very little we can claim VAT on, along with increase in wages and energy costs we have decided that we would split the 20% VAT costs with our clients. Therefore we have done a 10% boarding increase and we will take the other 10% loss. This seemed the fairest way to do it and this decision hasn’t been taken lightly.
Any bookings made before January’s increase will be honoured at the current price.

In Addition to all of our staff qualifications Matthew is level 3 in animal management qualified and has passed with distinction.
I am so proud of our team here at Charnwood.
Not only have they all worked hard to get the qualifications but the level of commitment; dedication and care they provide is outstanding.

Jade is now advancing on to do dog training qualifications.
