Elderly and Health Comprised Dogs:

At Daisy Doodles Grooming, the health, comfort and welfare of every dog will always come before achieving a perfect finish.
Senior dogs, dogs with medical conditions, mobility issues, anxiety, epilepsy, cognitive decline, or any other health concerns may be groomed under a welfare groom approach. This means that the groom will be completed to a standard that the dog can comfortably and safely tolerate, rather than to a show-standard or perfectly finished groom.
In some cases, I may need to:
• Leave certain areas slightly longer than requested.
• Work around sensitive, painful or matted areas.
• Take additional breaks during the groom.
• Prioritise hygiene, comfort and coat maintenance over cosmetic appearance.
• Stop the groom early if the dog becomes excessively stressed, distressed, exhausted or shows signs that continuing would compromise their welfare.

Welfare grooms are designed to improve a dog’s comfort, cleanliness and quality of life while minimising stress and risk. While every effort will be made to achieve the best possible result, the final finish may not meet the same standard as a routine groom on a healthy, cooperative dog.

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported me, trusted me with their dogs, recommended my business, and followed my journey. Being recognised within the grooming industry means so much.

For those who don’t know me, I’m Krystal, the owner and sole groomer behind Daisy Doodles Grooming. Every dog that comes through my door is cared for by me personally, and I pride myself on providing a calm, patient, one-to-one grooming experience tailored to each individual dog’s needs.

Animal welfare has always been at the heart of everything I do. I believe grooming should be about more than just appearance; it should be a positive experience where dogs feel safe, respected and comfortable. Whether that’s taking extra time with a nervous puppy, adapting a groom for an elderly dog, or working within a dog’s limitations, their wellbeing always comes first.

Alongside running my business, I am committed to continuing my professional development, regularly investing in education and learning to ensure I provide the highest standard of care possible.

To be nominated is already an achievement in itself, and I am so grateful for the support of my wonderful clients and their amazing dogs who make this job so rewarding every single day.
