Did you know…
For dogs, a walk is about SO much more than just exercise? 👀🐶

To us, it’s “just a walk.”
To them, it’s basically reading the news, checking social media, and catching up on local gossip all at once 😂

Every sniff gives your dog information about:
🐕 Other dogs
🦆 Wildlife
👣 Who’s been there
⏰ How long ago they passed through

That’s why “sniff walks” and exploring natural environments can be incredibly enriching and mentally tiring for dogs — sometimes even more than a fast-paced march around the block. 🌿

World Environment Day is a great reminder that nature walks benefit us and our dogs ❤️

✨ A few ways we can help protect the environments our dogs love:
• Always pick up after them
• Respect wildlife and nesting areas
• Keep dogs under control around livestock
• Leave natural spaces as we found them

With it being National Biscuit Day today… here’s a dog training fact you might not know 👀🐶

To your dog, not all biscuits (or treats) are created equal.

That dry biscuit at home?
“Yeah… it’s alright.”

A bit of chicken when another dog walks past?
“YOU HAVE MY FULL ATTENTION, HUMAN.” 👁️👄👁️

Dogs learn through value.
The harder the situation is, the more valuable the reward usually needs to be.

Because let’s be honest…
If someone offered you a plain digestive biscuit for dealing with something stressful, you’d probably expect hazard pay too 😂

✨ High-value rewards can make a huge difference with:

A lot of dogs tolerate busy places rather than genuinely feeling relaxed in them.

To us, it’s a chilled afternoon with friends…
But to some dogs, it can feel like:

🍺 Loud noises
👣 People constantly walking past
🐕 Other dogs invading their space
👋 Strangers trying to say hello
🍟 Food smells everywhere

Some dogs cope brilliantly with it… others are quietly stressed while lying under the table.

✨ Signs your dog might be struggling in busy environments:
• Excessive panting
• Constant scanning or staring
• Unable to settle
• Yawning or lip licking
• Barking/reactivity

While soldiers fought on the front lines, thousands of dogs were right there beside them—trained, trusted, and incredibly brave.

🐶 War dogs had important jobs like:
• Carrying messages across dangerous ground
• Detecting mines and hidden explosives
• Acting as guard dogs to protect camps and soldiers
• Searching for injured soldiers and staying with them until help arrived

Some even parachuted into war zones.
