Blythwood Vets is part of Linnaeus Veterinary Ltd (A Mars Company). Our clinics are located in Hatch End, Bushey, Northwood and Stanmore.

We are a small group of veterinary surgeries focused on small animal care located in North London. We offer a friendly, experienced veterinary service; many of our staff and clients have been with us for many years. You can reach us 7 days a week and outside of our normal opening hours offer a 24 hour emergency service.

🚨 Following government and national veterinary guidance, if you dog has been imported or travelled to an endemic area, or has contact with imported dogs, we may recommend testing your dog for Brucella.

💜Our reception team may ask you a few questions about your dogs background, or travel destinations so that we can provide the right advice and care.

Countries where Brucella is Endemic:

🐾 Meet Mochi! 🐾

This adorable young cat recently visited us for entropion surgery and has been an absolute superstar throughout his treatment. 💙
Entropion is a condition where the eyelid rolls inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the surface of the eye. Left untreated, it can be uncomfortable and may lead to irritation or damage to the eye.
We're delighted to report that Mochi's surgery went smoothly, and he's recovering beautifully. Just look at that sweet face! 😻

We’re pleased to announce the installation of the Sagetech VetDock system at our Bushey site as part of our commitment to more sustainable veterinary care 🌱🐾

The system safely captures waste anaesthetic gases and stores them inside a reusable capture canister. Once full, the canisters are collected, the waste gases are extracted, and then returned for reuse — helping to significantly reduce environmental impact.

By investing in innovative solutions like VetDock, we’re continuing to improve the sustainability of our practice while maintaining the highest standards of patient care 💚

A little cool-down treat for the team today - well deserved as always! Sorry pets ... these treats are just for them.

🌡️ Please help keep your pets safe in the heat - here are our top tips for keeping furry family members cool:

🐶 Walk dogs early morning or late evening
🚗 Never leave pets in cars — even for a few minutes
💧 Make sure fresh water is always available
🌳 Provide plenty of shade and cool resting areas
🐾 Check pavements with your hand — if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for paws
🐰 Keep small pets out of direct sunlight and ensure good ventilation

Watch for signs of heatstroke:
❗ Excessive panting
❗ Drooling
❗ Lethargy or weakness
❗ Vomiting or collapse

If you’re worried your pet may be suffering from heatstroke, contact us immediately.
