Over the coming weeks and months, all of the responses and evidence that’s been submitted will be read, reviewed, and taken into consideration. They will help inform any future decisions, and for now, we simply have to wait.

We’d like to thank everyone in our community who took the time to submit a response, share our posts, and support us in any way.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who shares our values, cares about animal welfare, and used their voice in an effort to make a positive difference.

Our work doesn’t end here, and there are many other issues that we’ll continue to support in the future. For now, however, we just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took part.

The League Against Cruel Sports has played a crucial role in the campaign to ending hunting, and we’re extremely grateful for their support and for helping make it straightforward for people to get involved and share their voice.

The League Against Cruel Sports is a charity that relies on the support of people who share its values, make donations, and volunteer their time. If you would like to learn more about how you can support their work, please visit their website http://www.league.org.uk

Kibble or wet food? The truth is, you don’t have to choose 🐕

Wet food can be served alongside kibble, complementing it and providing benefits that dry food alone alone can’t.

The aroma of real meat is is important to your dog. Their powerful sense of smell picks it up long before they reach the bowl.

But it's not the only advantage of wet food:
Higher moisture content to help support the kidneys and urinary tract (kibble typically contains around 8% moisture, while wet food can contain up to 80%)
More intact proteins
Protein sources that are easier to vary

Adding wet food to your dog's meal is a small change that can make a real difference, and a simple way to show care for your lifelong companion.

Does your dog stop every few steps to sniff around on walks too? 👃

That’s because dogs experience the world through their noses first. To us, a walk might seem repetitive, but for them, it’s a whole new world of information every single day.

A patch of grass, a lamppost, a pavement, nothing is really ordinary.

So next time ypur dog stops to sniff again, let them take his time.

Find out why sniffing is so important in our new article https://fondazionecapellino.org/en/recommunity/recommunity/why-your-dog-stops-to-sniff-everything-on-walks

In May, the UK saw an unusual spell of warm weather, with the highest recorded temperature broken twice in a row. Recent years show a clear pattern of rising heat, with 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 all among the warmest on record.

The early signs from 2026 suggest this trend is continuing.

A report from the Climate Change Committee highlights the UK is already facing stronger impacts from heat, flooding and drought, with risks expected to grow if no action is taken.

Baroness Brown, Chair of the Adaptation Committee, said that the report “carries a message of hope” because “the solutions already exist” to help protect people, communities and infrastructure.

The report also notes how longer periods of heat are affecting buildings, heavier rainfall is increasing flood risk, and dry spells are putting pressure on water supplies. These effects are already being felt across schools, hospitals and transport.

Alongside Government action, practical projects are helping communities and urban eco environments to adapt. Fondazione Capellino, owner of Almo Nature, supports initaitives worldwide that work to protect wildlife, restore biodiversity and respond to climate change.

One example is the Florence Project, which explores how cities can adapt to heat and other environmental pressures. By promoting greener urban spaces and better planning, it aims to strengthen resilience and provide solutions that can be applied around the world.

You may have seen the term “complementary food” on a can of cat food, without really knowing what it meant. Or maybe you even thought, 'Oh no, that probably isn’t enough for my cat.'

When choosing food for your cat, the word 'complementary' can feel a bit confusing. In simple terms, it refers to a different approach to feeding and nutrition.

In the wild, a cat doesn’t eat a perfectly balanced meal every time. Instead, balance comes over time through variety in its food.

That’s the idea behind complementary foods.

So what’s the real difference between a complete and a complementary wet food? And how can you make sure your cat is getting balanced nutrition?

We explain it all on our website: https://fondazionecapellino.org/en/recommunity/complete-or-complementary

🌊 Did you know that oceans do much more than support incredible wildlife? They also help regulate the Earth's climate and connect ecosystems that can be thousands of kilometres apart?

One of the most important pats of this system is the Gulf Stream. Flowing from the Azores to Spain, through the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands and influencing areas as far as the Alps, this ocean current help shapes climate patterns, supports animal migrations and plays a role in maintaining healthy ecosystems

Today, however, climate change is putting this natural system under increasing pressure.

Scientists have already observed signs that the Gulf Stream is slowing down. If this continues, it could have major effects on Europe's climate and the many ecosystems that depend on it.

To mark World Oceans Day, discover the story of this remarkable current and the regions it influencesin Habitat2
