The Power of the Nose 💥

Dog’s have around 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to about six million in us.

The part of a dog’s brain that is devoted to analysing smells is about 40 times greater than ours!
As they breathe in, they exhale through the ‘little slits’ from the sides of their noses as when we inhale & exhale we breathe smells in & out. The smells circulate around their noses.

Fireworks night tonight may not be the most enjoyable night for most dogs, so use the power of their noses and calm them using lavender oils from a diffuser, if you are staying in light candles with calming ingredients such as cedarwood or chamomile, lemon, orange, lavender, sandalwood.

Get them settled as much as possible with the scents and also classic music and hopefully they will been less distressed this Fireworks evening and over the weekend! 💥
