Puppy behavior and energy levels you need to know as a pawrent 🐶

🐾 0-10 weeks

Puppies are still « babies ». They have a lot of energy spend the majority of their days playing and learning the fundamentals of being dog, such as chasing, running, pawing, biting, and fighting.

🐾 10-16 weeks

At this age, playful energy remains, but now they are also starting to test their boundaries. They can “forget” the rules or commands, just like a teenager. This is normal behavior.

🐾 4-6 months

You may sign that your pup likes to play-fight with other dogs. That's a way to communicate for them and it's normal as long as it is safe for both dogs.

🐾 6-12 months

By this time your furry child may look like a full-grown adult dog, but he is still a puppy. Make sure that you still provide plenty of structured play and exercise for him. Don't forget about training and socialization.

🐾 1-2 years

Congrats! You’ve survived puppyhood and your dog become more mature.

Obtaining a dog's trust is one of the most important aspects of any human-canine relationship. This is especially true if you are meeting a rescue dog who has previously been mistreated or who has not been properly socialized.

However, by following simple guidelines such as remaining calm when meeting the dog, respecting the dog's personal space, and rewarding with treats, you can teach a dog to trust you.
