Does your dog listen perfectly at home but completely ignore you on walks?
This is one of the most common issues I see — and the fix is almost always the same: your dog is overwhelmed, under-guided, or unsure who’s leading the walk.

Dogs naturally respond to clarity, calmness, and consistent guidance.
Without structure, the outside world becomes more interesting than you.

In real-world training, I teach dogs how to:
• Stay calm before leaving the house
• Walk with purpose and focus
• Respond to clear lead communication
• Stay attentive even around distractions
• Fulfil the dogs needs and desires based on breed and drive sets

If you want personalised support tailored to your dog’s behaviour, I’d love to help you.

Teaching recall to your dog takes consistency and a line that you extend further with time and as more and more distractions in. If you have no way of reinforcing it positively and negatively then they learn that they can get away with it.

These anecdotes capture just a fraction of why I am so dedicated to my profession. Being a dog trainer is more than just a job for me; it is a calling to nurture stronger bonds between dogs and their humans, promoting peace and joy within their households.

Excited play isn't always a red flag — but it comes with responsibility.

I only allow this kind of high-energy play when I have full control over both dogs. That means I can interrupt at any time and shift their state of mind from excited to calm within seconds.⁣

This level of responsiveness doesn’t come from bribery or shouting — it comes from leadership, trust, and mutual respect.

If your dog won’t listen in a calm setting, they definitely won’t listen mid-play.

✨ Always prioritize control over chaos.⁣

It's rare that I come across bicolour German shepherds like Skyla so training this gorgeous girl was a pleasure. She has a touch of nerve and was reactive to dogs and people at close range, however on her way to recovery.
Can you guess which one Skyla is?

After doing a little clear out, I found some of the first books I used to read around the time of YouTube launching. I have just reread two of them, and it's incredible to notice how much training, dogs and humans have evolved from 20+ years ago. As a dog trainer, I always try to keep an open mind as it's not about what type of trainer you are, or who the best trainer is etc. The trainers that do well are the ones that have the dogs as teachers. Carefully watch and understand how dogs behave and interact and then marry that with the theoretical side of animal psychology and behaviour. It's not about ego, it's all about doing what's best for the specific dog and owner. No two dogs or owners are the same!
