It is so important that you get your dogs nails trimmed. If left too long, they will curl into the paw pads which is painful and has a high chance of turning into an infection. Having long nails also forces the toes into an unnatural position which is extremely uncomfortable for your dog.

How to know if your dogs nails are too long - If you hear your dog's nails "clicking" on hard floors, they are likely too long and need to be trimmed.
