This week’s new client is Nelly aka Nelly Pancake 😀, an adorable floofy 4.5 month old Cocker x Poodle 🐾❤️

Nelly is fitting into the family beautifully, but just needs a bit of help with a few things to help her along the road to adulthood.

We mainly covered some little simple tweaks to her routine, suggested some fun little games and activities to work that brain, and implemented a bit more structure to ensure the family are fitting in with her too!

She’s a beautiful girly and I’m confident that once these things are tweaked, life will be a lot easier all round.

If you are struggling with an aspect of living together smoothly, get in touch to ask about my 1-1 programmes. Suitable for dogs of all ages.

There’s a space become available on the next block of tricks class on the Wednesday group.

Here’s what they look like:

Each class the dogs work on different skills throughout the four weeks - not just the tricks themselves but building valuable life skills that will transfer into everyday life.

✅Focus around distractions
✅Working with their handler around other dogs & people
✅Confidence building
✅Relationship building
✅Self Control

Throughout the weeks we have covered things like spins, leg weaves, backwards walking, hold, retrieve, scoring goals, selfies and crawling.

All these can be adapted to different levels to add complexity for more experienced dogs, or simplify for new beginners.

Small relaxed classes means that you get plenty of 1-1 attention and no pressure or judgement. The emphasis is on having fun and learning together, whilst building you and your dog’s confidence and relationship.

There’s just one space left for the next block starting on April 15th at 2pm.

Get in touch if you’d like to give it a try.

Have fun with your dog, they’re not here for long 🐾❤️

Don’t take my word for it - see what the teams from current classes are saying 👇

Finally getting around to making this reel!

I’m a huge believer in not needing to drag others down to big myself up - and the dog training industry can be so toxic in that regard.

In late 2024, I met a great bunch of fellow trainers on a trip to Malaga.

Just over a year later, 6 of us got together again, this time in Wales.

I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and plummeted down a bloody zip wire - and I’m alive to tell the tale!

We had a fabulous weekend, plenty of sunshine, a LOT of talking 😆, a bit of shopping, a bit of eating (some of us more than others cough cough), and surprisingly very little alcohol - as I was exhausted the whole weekend.

I’m home (to be fair I only had 20 minutes to drive 😆), and recovered.

Now to let someone else organise the next one - but my OCD means I’ll likely butt in on that too.

Lead walking tips - training mode vs sniffing mode.

Stop trying to train your dog for the entire walk. It’s exhausting for both of you, and it’s probably why you’re not seeing results.

You trained yesterday. He was brilliant. A lovely loose lead. Lots of eye contact.

Today?
Rain. Wind. Kids demanding. You’re shattered.
You just need a quick toilet walk and get home to the warm and dry.
Your dog is dragging you down the road like none of that training ever happened.

It feels pointless. Frustrating. Like you’re getting nowhere despite you having done loads of training.
Sound familiar?

You don’t need to train every single walk. That’s just impossible and is setting everyone up to fail - yourself included.

Try this:

❗️𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙚: lead clipped to the collar.
Rules are that you pay 100% attention to your dog. You reward frequently when he walks nicely. You stay focused and engaged with him the whole time.

❗️𝙇𝙚𝙞𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙚: lead clipped to the harness.
Your dog is free to do what he wants. Sniff, pull whatever. You’re free to check your phone or chat with friends.

Alternate these within the same walk:
2 minutes training then switch and relax. Repeat a few times during your walks.

This way you won’t ruin the training you 𝑎𝑟𝑒 able to do, and your dog has a clear understanding of what’s expected.

If walks are a constant battle, get in touch to ask about my 1-1 programmes.

𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩’𝙨 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠𝙨!

“Oh no it isn’t!” (pantomime voice optional)

I have a space become available on my April trick training block starting Wednesday 15th April 2-3 pm. They’re held in Penrhynside

Teaching your dog fun stuff isn’t just about new skills, it’s about building your bond and understanding your dog better.

It also:

✅ Improves your training skills
✅ Builds confidence and focus
✅ Encourages problem-solving and brain work
✅ Provides mental and physical exercise

Classes are kept small, and run in blocks of 4 weekly sessions. Total cost £85

Dogs need to be comfortable working around other dogs & people. I also offer these on a 1-1 basis.

If you’d like to build confidence, boost focus, and improve how you train - get in touch for a chat to see if this would suit you & your dog.

‼️Out of office activated‼️

I’m off for a well earned weekend away in this glorious weather we are forecast this weekend.

I’m all for building relationships within the dog training community, and the weekend promises to be a good one with Reactive Dog Training Beckys Doggy Business And Cat Care Moo Dog Training DogSkills Anything's Pawsible - Dog training

We’ll start off with a little trip down some zip wire thing - what could possibly go wrong? 😆

Charley has had her massage with Caz at Canine Muscular Health Clinic this morning - I’m sure she’ll testify that this is how she was for the whole hour, not just for this short clip - or maybe not😂😂

I’m leaving my husband in Charley’s capable paws - I’m sure she’ll manipulate him into sharing his steaks and lamb with her over the weekend.

Any messages will be replied to on Tuesday 24th March ☀️(if I make it to the end of the zip wire)

Lead walking tips - building value in position and adding movement.

Check out the rest of the tips on marker word, focus and teaching position before doing this one.

A reward should always be given to the dog in the ‘magic circle’ where you want him to walk when the lead is on.

If your dog doesn’t get the treat in the correct position, then he will either keep pulling ahead, or will return to the position where he was last given the treat.

Start in a quiet area like your garden, once your dog learns it there take it out on your walks. You can do this on lead too, but make sure to remember that the lead stays loose, and that the dog isn’t nagged to come to you. You want the dog actively choosing to return to you. If he’s distracted by other things going on, work a bit more on the focus games, before trying again.

Don’t be impatient to reduce the treats, your dog likely has months - if not years - of practise at pulling, it’s not going to happen overnight.

Later this week I’ll give you a tip that most people are unaware of, but that is a total game changer as far as training goes.

This game adds movement to the position you have already taught.

Here’s how to build value in position and staying near you 👇

Another great tricks class with team Lili , team Louis and team Chanti.

We started off some more new stuff and now we’ll start building on all the behaviours we’ve covered so far.

Next week we’ll start devising a little sequence so they can show off their new skills - but they don’t know that yet 😉 🐾

All three dogs worked their little socks off.

If you’re interested in having some fun with your dog and seeing them learn new stuff, get in touch to enquire about upcoming classes.

What she says 👇

It’s tiresome, and if people need to constantly put others down to try and make themselves look better, it’s very telling.

It seems to be a common thing in the dog training world that trainers spend a large portion of their social media presence slagging off other trainers and other methods. Unfortunately the algorithms tend to favour these types of posts as they illicit lots of engagement typically, leading to more and more toxic content as that’s what gets content seen by the masses.

Instead of creating controversial posts I post videos of mine and my customers dogs demonstrating good pet dog training. I also try to create content that I hope people find helpful. So if you do find my posts useful, ( or those of other trainers who choose not to enter in social media wars) interact with them by liking, commenting, sharing or saving them so the social media algorithms stop prioritising hateful content. I don’t believe in dragging other people down in an attempt to build myself up. As the saying goes… if you can be anything in this world, be kind 🥰

(Also, if I was looking for a plumber and I looked on their social media, and the basis of their entire page was slagging off other plumbers I have to say I’d find another plumber… because that’s weird 🙊🤣. I’m not sure why this method of self promotion has become a ‘thing’ in the dog training world?! But it really ought to stop, just because somebody does something different to you doesn’t mean it’s automatically wrong or that you can’t learn anything from them if you just engaged in adult conversation instead of name calling 🤷‍♀️)

Tuesday tricks class with both dogs absolutely smashing it.

The highlight for me was getting them both to score a goal ⚽️⚽️

I think I must have said good boy, good girl and yayyy about 50 times over the hour 😆😆

I love watching dogs learn. Neither dog had experience of working around others previously in a class, so by carefully managing the environment and taking it at their pace, they are able to come and enjoy quality time learning new stuff and working their brain.

The current classes are full, but if you’d like to join a class you can add your name to the list and I will contact you if a space becomes available for future classes.

I keep classes small to ensure dogs aren’t overwhelmed, and to ensure it’s a positive learning experience for all.

Well done team Diddy & team Gryff 👏

𝘿𝙤𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙𝙤𝙜 𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙙𝙤𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙧 𝙨𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮?

A dog who can control themselves in exciting situations, is a dog you don’t have to keep nagging. Who wants to be nagged and told what to do constantly?

It’s irritating, it just makes you switch off and the persons voice just becomes white noise in the background.

Instead of repeating wait / stay / don’t move / **insert choice of word** , wouldn’t it be great if your pup learned that when the door opens , then they need to wait for their release word before going through. Or when they sit, it means sit until you hear your release word? All without you needing to repeat stay stay stay over & over again?

Dogs work out cause & effect pretty quickly and once they understand the behaviour at doors, it quickly translates to car boots and gates - any boundary infact.

This is one of many concepts I cover with puppies. Here’s Cadi whose owners chose my 1-1 programme, only 12 weeks old and smashing it.

🔗 There’s a link in my bio to a free guide on how to teach your dog some simple focus & self control skills.

Set your puppy off on the right paw, and get in touch to find out more about my 1-1 puppy programmes. They’re not a one size fits all, and are tailored to your individual needs.
