Good morning to all our clients.
With us entering the hot season we wanted to make you all aware of the processes we have in place to keep all your dogs safe and still be able to have as much fun as usual.
Cold fresh water is a constant. Water is refreshed all throughout the day. We operate on a one bowl per dog ratio but during sunny season all areas are equipped with extras. Water bowls are moved throughout the day to be kept in shaded areas and water is changed every half an hour so the dogs can stay completely hydrated.
Pool parties. Every area is equipped with a pool that will have its water changed every hour. This allows all our pooches to be able to bathe and regulate their body temperatures. Plus they get to splash around like seals all day having fun in the sun.
All areas are equipped with reflective sun screens. These provide two services. The first is that the screens actually bounce the heat away keeping the overall temperatures of the areas down. And secondly they provide extra areas of shade for our dogs to relax in.
Every area has access to indoor areas as well. Our huts provide a completely shaded area for all our dogs to relax in. They are not completely closed off either and the gaps around the top are designed specifically to allow air flow to go through keeping them nice and cool.
As we are a mostly outdoor day care we have a lot of soil on site. The soil is dug up, turned over and sprayed with water. This gives the dogs a soft, cool, relaxing surface.
Lastly we as staff understand the importance of rest and relaxation in this heat. All our dogs come in and still get to enjoy their day with all of their pals but once we get to midday when the sun is high in the sky we are all about chilling and relaxing in the shade.
