Dots and Darcy were so good, Darcy did find it a little exciting going through the village but held it together and did relax after she’d marched around a bit when we arrived and realised we weren’t at the races 😉 then she hacked back like an angel😇 Dotty as always was just happy to be out!
They were even offered the fanciest drink of water they’ve ever had 🥂🍾

First little spin on Bandit up and down the drive 😎 he’s so cool I love how naturally forward he is.
I’ll never get over how much I love seeing them work out what you’re asking for the first time I ride a breaker🥰
I also always ride all youngsters independently from the get go, I think it’s so important for them to listen to me rather than just follow another horse or person the first time I ride them, I love walk, halt transitions to really get the focus on me and get them waiting for the next question I’m going to ask.

Bandit arrived with me on Sunday and has been longreining and being leant over since he arrived. He has been absolutely super and has not changed at all, happy to leave the yard and go wherever and past whatever I ask of him 😇
He can be quite a nervous boy of things coming at him and being put on him, we’ve done a lot of work putting his saddle pad on and off until he relaxes so I wanted him to be extra confident with me moving around him before I sat up on him as he’s a sensitive chap despite how brave he makes himself out to be. Anyway tonight I sat on him and he felt totally relaxed, so so happy with him 🥰

Finally on board this beautiful girl, Darcy🥰 so exciting but worth the wait to know she is not in any discomfort with her tooth!
I put her on the longreins as although I know she’s raced I had no knowledge of what she is like under saddle, but as expected from her lovely temperament on the ground she was an absolute angel and acted like she’d only been last ridden yesterday not 5 years ago. I couldn’t help getting on and walking her down the drive! ❤️ Looking forward to a fun summer ahead with her ☀️

Long day for Darcy today having the rest of her tooth extracted 🥲
I really couldn’t be more pleased with her, baring in mind she doesn’t know us very well she was foot perfect, such a polite, kind girl travelling quietly there and back.
She’s a bit sore and sad now as it was a big job taking it out and was not a quick procedure but hopefully she will be feeling so much better in a week or so and will then be ready to start some proper work when she’s all healed!
So grateful to my co pilot and co owner Alice and also my Mum, Dad and Sam for doing the quickest tyre change this morning when we had a flat tyre after we were already loaded and ready to go 🫣 it was like watching an F1 pit team😂

Rising 4yo Echo has started longreining picking it up really quickly and being very relaxed out and about 🥰 Physically we are taking it slowly as she was born late in the year but mentally she was ready for another challenge and she seems to be enjoying it!
