We have managed to obtain details from the microchip number and believe he lives not far from where he was found but sadly the telephone number is not up to date. Everyone is aware by now that Bluetongue is in our area and cases are rising rapidly. We understand that this is a really difficult time for all livestock owners and please contact the practice if you have any concerns.

Some points to note -

1/ It is a notifiable disease so farmers and vets must report suspicion of disease.
2/ There is no mandatory culling or movement restrictions currently in England and Wales.
3/ The main signs we are seeing are sheep that are ill, dull, nasal discharge and lameness
4/ We are getting limited supplies of vaccine, so please contact us to get on the waiting list or discuss possible options for your farm.

So in summary please contact us if you have any concerns or suspicions of disease, or to speak about vaccination.

A huge well done to one of our clients- Buxton firefighter Angus Doig won a bronze medal in Olympic weight lifting in the Commonwealth Games on Tuesday!
Angus coaches himself in his garage and has worked very hard for the last few years to get this far.
It's amazing to see someone so local to us being this successful.

**** A MASSIVE THANK YOU *******
To all our clients old and new that came to say Hi and support us at Leek and District Agricultural Show - we had a wonderful day and enjoyed every minute of it.
Our wonderful raffle sponsored by Norbrook raised over £400 for The Farming Community Network has been drawn and the winners have been notified.
The weather was kind and the spirits were high!
