Don't always ask your dog to do things for you.

Train them to do things they enjoy too.

In fact, most of what you ask your dog to do should be rewarding in some way—either because they enjoy the activity itself or because it leads to something they want.

It's easy to focus only on using food to get behaviours. But great training is about building a relationship where your dog wants to engage and work with you.

When you start incorporating things your dog enjoys into training, you'll often see better engagement, reliability, and enthusiasm.

First Working Test of the season done, and what a day!!

Four tests, and Odin gave me everything in every single one. The difference from this time last year is massive, his engagement, his drive, the way he's working with me out there. That's exactly what I've been working towards.

He looked sharp, keen, and was loving every bit of it, and watching him work had me grinning the whole drive home.

A few little things to tidy up before the next one, but that's half the fun. Proper season ahead now and I cannot wait to crack on.

Buzzing doesn't cover it. Super proud of this boy.
