💙Rainy days & Happy Hooks💙

My latest hexi cardigan is hooking up beautifully in Colour Rush DK shade Raindrop 💦

The colours are giving me all the cool, fresh, rainy day vibes although I have to say, we’ve had quite enough of the real thing this week! 💦

Me and Wizard are getting a bit fed up with digging out our waterproofs every time we head out the door. I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for summer to make a comeback! 🌞

Until then, I’ll be adding a few more granny stitch rows, watching the colours unfold and enjoying a little crochet therapy while the rain taps at the window💦
At least if we can’t have sunshine outside, we can make our own with colourful yarn 😃☔️💦

💗🧡Finished for Friday! 🧡💗

Two hexi cardigans completed (5 more on the hook🤯) so now onto the finishing touches.
Woofs & Wool label stitched in, swing tag added, and these colourful beauties are ready for their new homes on Vinted ☺️

The first is made using Pato Everyday Prints DK in shade 688 Tea Party which is a joyful mix of bright pink, peach, orange, lemon and soft candy pink that are so HOT 🔥
And speaking of hot, me & Wizard are melting 🫠 🐾
Wizzy does not cope well at all with heat but some good news- his paw seems to be ok since the vet poked around in it & his wart has fell off 😃 !
Anyway, I digress…

The second hexi is made using Giggles DK in shade WG08 which is a mix of blue, lavender, green & white that are calming & COOL 😎

💙Throwback Thursday 💙

Lots of lovely comments and messages about this top in my last reel, so I thought it deserved a little moment of its own!

This is my Totally Tropical Top from March ‘24, hooked using Tropical Beaches DK in those dreamy sea-glass shades 💙💚

A very beginner-friendly make:
✨ no shaping
✨ front & back panels are identical
✨ made to measure
✨ relaxing, repetitive stitching

This version was finished with crochet pompoms around the hem, but I also made another with a swishy fringe finish too! (scroll to last photo on carousel)

Still one of my favourite warm weather makes and proof that self-striping yarn really does all the hard work for you 😃

🧡Yarn Dive Finds 🧡

A trip to can only mean one thing during the sale and that’s time for a proper yarn dive! ( have you seen the reel with languishing happily in the yarn ?😂 love it!)

The best bargains are always hiding at the bottom of the giant yarn pile so sometimes you just have to fully commit and dive in 💀😃
This time I came home with a 10 x 100g pack of Colour Rush DK in shade 652 Watermelon 🍉 The colours were too fun to leave behind. Such good value as well!

Naturally, it’s destined to become another hexi cardigan because apparently I cannot be stopped 😅
I’ll be hooking it al fresco in the shady corner of the garden while trying to avoid melting in this heatwave ☀️

🐶Poor Wizard isn’t coping too well with the hot weather, so we’re taking things very slowly ( out for walkies at 7.30 this morning ) and embracing lazy shady garden days 🐾 🪴

💗Happy Wizard Wednesday💗

Wizard has had a sore paw for a few weeks, so yesterday we had a little trip to the vets and he came home with a pink bandage. 🎀

Wizard thinks I’m taking this matchy matchy obsession to a new unhealthy level 😂
But I don’t think it’s a bad thing that he matches the room do you? 😃💗

Thankfully he didn’t refuse to model my simple stocking stitch bandana created using the self striping Rocket DK which is the very first yarn offering from !

Please send gentle boops and speedy healing wishes to my brave little dog 💕

PS He’s bright as a button in himself and still demanding walkies & cheese 😃🧀

🧡 Happy Monday everyone 🧡

Colour really does something to the soul, doesn’t it?
Some days I’m convinced bright yarn is a form of therapy.
The pinks feel joyful, the oranges bring warmth, the blues feel calming and somehow crocheting them all together feels like stitching together a better mood too.
This Colour Rush in shade Funshine is certainly delivering comfort, colour and serotonin by the skein 💕

Picked up this absolute beauty from the bargain section at last week l!
It’s Colour Rush DK in shade Funshine and honestly… I was powerless to resist those bright happy colours 😅

It’s a self-striping dream and as you can see I’m already well underway with a hexi
The colour changes are giving pure dopamine crochet energy 😄

🌸Strength & Stitches 🌸
Granny stitch and hexis are all my brain can handle right now.
These simple repetitive stitches have been a little pocket of calm in what’s been a really heavy couple of months.
My dad was diagnosed with bowel cancer early in the year and in this last few weeks been diagnosed with Asbestosis. He starts treatment this week (no cure for this horrible condition ) so we’re taking things one day at a time.😢

For now, I’ll keep making, keep breathing, and keep finding comfort in yarn and colour 🌸

Wizard insisted on this shade, yes honestly, he said it really brings out his eyes. Hey I just do the crocheting & he handles creative direction.😬
