A long post and some you won't know or understand as its about our mentor Jamie and how UKSD came about but the things thats said ib the post are spot on.
I would be lost without the obedience training and scentwork with my own two dogs.
This alone is the biggest reason why i want to bring scentwork to pet dog owners in fife
Any queries please ask

You’ve seen the fashion disasters of obedience and the emotional chaos of Agility, well, today, we're diving into the world of scent detection - or as I like to call it, "Canine Detective: Olfaction Slavery,” where dogs put their sniffing abilities to the ultimate test, while the handlers take laziness to new heights.👃🐽👃
The 👑 KING of dog sports, Mondioring, already has a powerful nose work section by searching for tiny wooden objects, like a furry Sherlock Holmes in environments beyond your wildest imagination. But if you're looking for something with even more nose-driven excitement, and less effort, where your dog does all the work while you barely lift a finger, then scent detection is the adventure for you and your pup.🐶
In scent detection trials, dogs have to locate specific scents hidden in various environments. Meanwhile, their handlers, who seem to be masters of slothfulness, guide them through the search with minimal effort, like they're trying to prove that their dogs are essentially their personal detectives and they're the comically lazy sidekick.
Here are some of the exhilarating challenges these sniff-happy duos tackle. 🫖🦮
✅Sniff stuff.✅
Now I’m no expert, nope, f**k that I am actually pretty sexy at this s**t. I run a course for dog trainers who want to become badass

but instead of listening to me rattle on let me introduce you to my friend and slightly less handsome colleague Jamie "The Sniffmeister" Pound: a man who once knew a shocking amount about electricity but now much prefers the smell of canine success. After turning himself into a walking fire hazard, Jamie decided to trade in his electrician career to become a dog sniffing expert. Jamie founded UK Sniffer Dogs and two dog training schools. His Sherlock Holmes-style scent detection classes have become wildly popular, earning him "Dog Trainer & Behaviourist of the Year" in 2020. Jamie's sniffer dog empire is expanding globally, transforming both dogs and their owners' lives, one sniff at a time.👃🦮
Here’s his top 5 benefits
1.🐶💡 It's highly stimulating for our dogs! You hear all the time "dogs need a job" and I believe if they could pick their own job, the majority of dogs would choose Sniffing! 🐾🔍
2.🌟🐕 It's all-inclusive, so any dog, any age, any breed can do it. It's great for Puppies 🐶, Elderly dogs 👴🐕, excitable dogs 🐩💥, and dogs that can't be let off lead for physical/medical or behavioral reasons 🚷🩺.
3.🌍🏡 It can be done anywhere - in the home, in the garden, out on walks; anywhere safe and legal can be a search area! 🌳🔎
4.🦽🤝 It's a great way for handlers with mobility issues to exercise, stimulate, and bond with their dog. "The only way I get away with having 5 happy Dogs, 3 Kids, 2 businesses, and a bad leg is with Nosework! 🐕🦺🎉
5.😌🐾 Behaviourally, it is amazing for our dogs, especially those that are anxious or reactive. Dogs are usually reactive to things they see or hear. If we can get them using their nose out in different environments, they will start to naturally ignore their triggers and build confidence through sniffing! 🐶👃

So, if you're looking for a dog sport that combines the excitement of a detective thriller, the laid-back attitude of a lazy Sunday afternoon, and the low-energy enthusiasm of a human who treats their dog like a personal scent-detecting butler, scent detection is the perfect outlet for you and your pup to prove that you can achieve great things without breaking a sweat. Just remember to pack some additional rich tea biscuits for your well-deserved 7th cuppa!🫖☕️😴
