🐾🐾 Veterinary Nursing Awareness Month 🐾🐾

Meet Denise.

Denise has been an RVN for more years than she cares to remember, joining our team at Valley earlier this year following a year of Locum Nursing around Scotalnd. Throughout her career, Denise has worked in a range of different clinics in both clinical and administrative roles.

Denise is passionate about patient care, particularly helping our more nervous patients feel as relaxed as possible while they are with us in clinic. She also loves meeting all our lovely clients when she is consulting.

She now works part-time, balancing her professional life around her biggest priority - her wonderfully crazy dog, Fin. When she’s not at work, Denise can usually be found rambling through the countryside or coast with Fin by her side. Denise also has a love for her garden, enjoying nurturing plants from seed, with varying degrees of success!! Her guilty pleasure is binge watching a good drama series (with a glass, or two, of wine).

🐾🐾 Veterinary Nurse Awareness 🐾🐾

Next is student nurse Rebecca. Rebecca has always been interested in working in the veterinary industry. From her previous role as a receptionist at another clinic, she discovered the role of the veterinary nurse and quickly realised it was the perfect fit for her!

She has recently joined Valley Vets as a Student Veterinary Nurse and is working hard towards becoming officially registered by 2027.

At home, Rebecca has her dog Fidget who likes to spend his day either sleeping or annoying her cat Freyah, although Freyah is quick to remind him that she’s the boss 🐾🐶🐱

Meet the team

Introducing Katie, a final year student veterinary nurse who has been at the practice training to be RVN for a year and hopes to be fully qualified soon.

Katie’s picture features her labradors and terrier Lily, Cara, Heidi and Sasha- and her tortoise jean!

Katie lives on a farm and spends her time with her family, reading a good book and at the beach with her dogs.

Katie loves all aspects of veterinary nursing, but especially loves laboratory work, monitoring anaesthesia and working patients of all species and sizes! 🐄 🐶 🐠 🐾

Katie is also off to South Africa soon for a Wildlife Conservation course 🦒.

Meet the team

Next up we have Lauren, our Deptuy Head Nurse

Lauren has been a qualified nurse for 10.5 years and has worked at VVG for 15 years this month.

Originally she was employed as a part time receptionist and after spending some time with the nursing team she was hooked!

Lauren has a keen interest in nutrition particularly running obesity clinics, she now has many success stories. She also enjoys working in the pharmacy and as Head of Pharmacy she is very particular about stock control!

Lauren has twin 6 year old boys and enjoys spending time with them and her husband on her days off. She also has Tango, a 2.5 year old rottweiler, who is very cheeky and energetic!

🐾🐾 Veterinary Nurse Awareness Month 🐾🐾

Meet the team.

First we have Kelly, our Head Veterinary Nurse.

Kelly has been a qualified nurse for 18 years at the end of this month and has been with Valley Vet Group for nearly 17 years!

Being a Veterinary Nurse was always Kelly’s dream job since she was little and something she is very proud of.

Kelly loves all aspects of her job but mostly enjoys nursing patients on wards, being in theatre monitoring anaesthesia, training students and leading her amazing team!

Like the rest of the Valley team, Kelly wants the practice to provide the best care and service they can and helps gain our accreditations and awards.

Outside of work she is married and kept busy looking after their 2 boys and now her crazy, 6 month old, spaniel cross puppy, Joy!! Joy is a ball of chaos but is so much fun!
