Mammary tumours.

Did you know that mammary tumours are more
common in female dogs that haven't been spayed?

They often start as pea-sized lumps in the mammary
(breast) tissue but can grow large and ulcerate. It is not uncommon for dogs to develop mammary tumours in multiple teats at the same time.

There are many different types of mammary tumours, around 50% of which are aggressive, but more even the benign types can transform to become aggressive over time. It is recommended that any mammary masses are removed promptly for analysis, and this is usually curative.

For more information about mammary tumours see the article here:

Learn about the symptoms, treatment options, and the importance of early intervention for mammary tumours in dogs and cats.

Lumps and bumps.

If you found a lump on yourself, you’d go to the doctors, right?

It’s the same for your dog.

If you find a lump or a bump on your dog, the sooner it
is checked out by your vet, the better the chance of a
cure.

For advice on lumps and bumps and to book an
appointment, give us a call today or visit our website
for more information:
