I wrote a poem for my Dad today. Pretty much a true story of

The Fish that got away

This will be the day……
This will definitely be the day.
This is the day I will finally catch that fish that always seems to break away.

Bend my rod and smash my line….. but I’m telling you…. It’s just a matter of time.

I’ll catch that fish and then your’ll see what it really means to me.

See for yourself with all is glory. Your’ll realise then it wasn’t just a fisherman’s tall story.

Truth is I’ll catch that fish everytime. It always seems to smash my line. We seem to have an unbreakable bond…
The fish, myself and the pond.

I prefer this one fish to always swim free. Never to be netted by me.

I’ll come home and always say, “It was this bloody big”
