Posted • Wondering what is so special about prescription food?

Well it turns out, not much other than it being a borderline genius way to profit off of pet parents.

These diets are made up mostly of carbohydrates like rice & corn and cost over $100 a bag!

Next time your vet pushes prescription food on you, ask questions and have them clarify exactly how it will heal your dogs Issue, do some research, and compare the ingredients to what you are already feeding.

A timely reminder considering it is BOILING outside today and tomorrow. Make sure never to walk your dog in the peak temperatures through the day, we can take off our coats, dogs cannot. Remember, the heat of pavements and roads also has the potential to burn paws.

NEVER EVER leave a dog in a hot car.

Remember, flat faced breeds, very large breeds, older dogs, heavy coated dogs, overweight dogs, young dogs and puppies, find it extra hard to keep themselves cool in this weather.

Thank you, PDSA ....

Temperatures are soaring and roads are melting... but dogs are still being walked during the hottest parts of the day ☀️

Did you know that even if the temperature is 25°c with low humidity and little wind tarmac can reach 52°c?

An egg can fry at 55°c 🍳

Tarmac will soak in the heat all day making it pretty unbearable for your pet's paws. Astroturf temperatures can reach even higher.

So please do share, let's inform EVERYONE about the dangers of pavements in the sunshine.
