there are many benefits to having your horse massaged, some of which include:
-Reduced muscle tension and soreness
-Increased range of motion and stride length so greater flexibility
-Improved circulation, coat & muscle tone, even posture
-Improved proprioception
-Reduced fatigue and injuries

Contraindications
These are conditions or factors which give reason to avoid a particular treatment or procedure as it could be harmful.. These include:

-The horses temperature being over 39 degrees, average is usually 38
-Fungal skin conditions such as Ringworm
-Infectious conditions such as poll-evil or fistulous withers
-Acute stages of viral disease, such as influenza or herpes
-Open wounds, unless vet permits other areas to be massaged
-Areas of acute trauma, 72hrs typically need to pass
-Tetanus, nerve stimulation would be intolerable
-Acute rheumatism and arthritis unless vet permission
There may also be other reasons which can be discussed prior to appointments.

Veterinary Permissions Act 1966
Updated 2021- The RCVS issued the following guidance concerning veterinary consent for competition and maintenance care:
19.24-Muscoskeletal maintenance care for a healthy animal, such as massage, does not require delegation by a vet. However the animal must still be registered with a vet. Maintenance should be ceased, and the animals owner should be asked to take the animal to the vet for a clinical examination at the first sign that there may be any underlying injury, disease or pathology. Alternatively the therapist may ask the client for formal consent to disclose concerns to the vet who has their animal under their care

Initial appointments take around 60-90 minutes, I will ask for some details to get the history of your horse , a static and dynamic assessment will be carried out before moving on to the treatment and finishing with some appropriate stretches for each individual horse. Ideally a video will be sent prior to the appointment to get a general look before I arrive. This appointment will cost £50, following appointments are £45
