Grass Seeds!

Grass seed season is in full swing, so be aware of grass seeds and check your dogs over post walk

No mow May means there are more around, and those tiny grass seeds can cause trouble for your dog!!

Foxtail grass is particularly nasty. They are in fields, parks, gardens... Basically everywhere!

They can lodge into paws, hide in your dogs coat, and get into eyes, nose, and ears.

Grass seeds can cause irritation and inflammation, and the nasty barbed ones can travel internally and cause serious issues.

Look out for these signs...

Persistent head shaking
Excessive ear scratching
Unusual or persistent licking/chewing of paws
Continuous sneezing
Unusual swellings or sores

Thoroughly check your dog after a dog walk or training. Check paws, eyes, ears, and coat. It can be useful to trim long hair between their paw pads.
