Just recieved my IPET Network Caine First Aid level 3 certificate which I was awarded in January 2026. As well as the theory work online, I did a day training having hands on practice at Dog-a-holic Grooming Academy with Amanda

I did this 3 years ago when I also completed my grooming qualification with Amanda but doing this every 3 years is vital to keep up to date with changes in policy and procedures.

Example of how apply training: I recently had a dog in that has a seizure history. This did not worry me as I asked the appropriate questions to owner about triggers how the seizure looks (not all seizures are the same). I was confident with my training what I needed to do to keep the dog safe if it occurred and change the environment and grooming process to reduce the risk of a trigger.

If you would be interested in getting this qualification please let me know as Amanda who I have had my training with would love to come up and offer this course to anyone who is interested from pet parents, farmers, game keepers, dog trainers/walkers or just someone who would want to help a dog if they was injured in public.

I am now looking into my next training with IPET which will be dog behaviour and welfare training basis as I want to provide the best service to my clients.

It seems to be puppy season at the moment, had a few in recently to be introduced to grooming.

If you have a puppy don't wait to start the grooming journey, as soon as they are fully vaccinated then book a intro groom.

This is usually includes a bath, dry, nail trim, light scissor trimming and of course play time😄.

There is also lots of things you can do at home to get them desensitised (only a few mintues a day needed) and I am always happy to give you suggestions after meeting your puppy and seeing there personality.

That's me done for 2024, thank you everyone who has trusted me with there 4 legged family members this year and I look forward to seeing old and new waggy tails 2025.

No Doggy pictures today but some exciting news anyway. Many of you probably know but the track up to my house is very well described as a bumpy trip 🙈. Well it might of took us 12 yrs but eventually our whole track is getting a massive upgrade. By the end of this week my track will be smooth and probably better then many roads on Islay 😉.

Thank you to all my current customers who have put up with my track for the last two years, I really appreciate your patience.

I am open Monday to Friday weekly and also offer appointments one Saturday a month.

My poor sisters dog excited for his holiday and comes here and he ends up getting a haircut, he was such a good boy for me 😍.

Deshedding season is definitely arrived and lots of dogs coming in which are blowing there coat. With the products I use and techniques I can remove the dead coat quickly and effectively, so you are not hoovering every 2 minutes.
