A fantastic weekend at the BAEDT Congress 2026!

An excellent programme of lectures, a productive AGM, and a brilliant evening celebrating 25 years of the BAEDT with colleagues and friends. Thank you to the organisers, speakers, sponsors and delegates for making it such an enjoyable and educational event.

Already excited for next year’s Congress!

Before Nov 2025 ➡️ After May 2026

Progressing DGL4 correction showing improved balance and function over time.

Prior to treatment, this horse was going better on the right rein, which is consistent with the asymmetry seen here.

Careful, progressive correction and regular reassessment are key in cases like this. 🦷🐴

The incisors play a critical role in the horse’s overall comfort, biomechanics and ability to function correctly.

Abnormal incisor wear patterns such as ventral curves, dorsal curves, diagonal bites and incorrect incisor table angles can dramatically alter the horse’s natural jaw movement. When the incisors become restricted, they create a mechanical blockage that limits the rostrocaudal and lateral movement of the mandible.

This restriction directly impacts the cheek teeth’s ability to function correctly during mastication. Reduced jaw mobility can lead to inefficient grinding, uneven pressure throughout the dental arcades and compensation patterns developing through the TMJ, poll, neck and entire musculoskeletal system.

Under saddle, these horses may present with:• Resistance in the contact• Difficulty flexing or bending evenly• Head tilting or jaw crossing• Tension through the topline• One-sidedness and reduced performance• Difficulty softening through the poll

Correct incisor balancing helps restore functional movement of the jaw, improving comfort, mastication and overall biomechanics throughout the horse’s body.
Equine dentistry is never just about teeth, it’s about whole horse function. 🐴

Always a privilege to spend time teaching the next generation at TriDent Equine Dental Education Ltd

This week I had the opportunity to lecture on skull charting techniques and the use of the Pimbury app, helping students develop practical skills in accurate dental recording and case management.

I’m a big believer that professional development never stops, no matter how long you’ve been in the industry. Having my own work reviewed and discussed with fellow EDTs and vets is something I really value, as it helps me continue learning, refining my techniques, and maintaining the highest standards of care for the horses I treat.

There’s nothing more rewarding than sharing knowledge, practical skills, and real world experiences with passionate students who are committed to improving equine welfare and advancing their careers in equine dentistry.

From hands on techniques to case discussions, every course is a reminder of how important continued education, teamwork, and mentorship are within our industry.

A huge thank you to all the students for your enthusiasm, hard work, and willingness to learn. 🐴🦷

✨ Dedicated to providing the best dental care for your horse ✨

BEVA/BVDA QUALIFIED BAEDT FULL MEMBER

✨ Now welcoming new clients ✨

Last year was one of the busiest and most rewarding of my career, with opportunities to train, teach and work alongside some of the best equine dental professionals in the UK and internationally. From 32 days in Australia to conferences across Europe, examiner courses, clinics and hands on collaboration, every experience helped strengthen my knowledge, skills and standards.

All of this is with one goal in mind:

🐴 Providing the highest standard of dental care for your horse 🦷

This year I’m continuing that commitment, with further conferences in the UK and abroad already planned, alongside teaching and supporting the next generation within the equine dentistry.

A huge thank you to all my wonderful clients for your continued trust and support. Your support allows me to keep investing in education and bring the latest techniques and knowledge straight back to the horses I’m privileged to work with.

🦷Just a heads up🦷

I will be away teaching at TriDent Equine Dentistry School from 4th–11th May, so replies to messages and enquiries may be a little slower than usual during this time.

I’m really looking forward to working alongside fellow EDTs and vets, and helping support the next generation of equine dental professionals.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. 🐴🦷
