A little personal update ✨️
Some of you might have noticed I've been a bit quiet on here lately, so I thought I'd take a moment to explain why.
Honestly, I've been struggling a bit with my mental health recently, and I've had to take a step back from things while I try to get myself back on track.
I've also recently started my new job as a Behaviour Coach with Dogs Trust, which I'm absolutely loving! 🐾 It's been a really positive change, but starting a new job, adjusting to a new routine and balancing everything alongside Canine Pawtential has taken up a lot of my mental energy.
The reality is that sometimes, even when things are going well in your life, you can still struggle. You can love your job, enjoy your business and have plenty of things to be grateful for, but still not feel quite yourself.
I've been trying to remind myself that looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. Sometimes that means slowing down, taking a step back, asking for help and accepting that you can't do everything all at once.
As someone who spends so much time encouraging people to be patient with their dogs, recognise their needs and set them up for success, I think it's important to remember that we need to give ourselves that same patience and understanding, too 💜
Canine Pawtential isn't going anywhere, and I'm still here working with you and your dogs! Things might be a little quieter on the social media front while I find my feet and get myself into a new routine, but I really appreciate everyone who continues to support my little business.
And if you're struggling yourself at the moment, please remember that you don't have to wait until you're at breaking point to ask for help. You don't need to have everything figured out, and you don't need to justify how you're feeling.
Be kind to yourself. Take a breather when you need one. And remember that progress isn't always about doing more; sometimes it's about recognising when you need to do a little less 🥰
