Please bare with me over the next 6 weeks, I may be late in responding to messages due to it being my daughters first Summer Holidays before starting school full time & also my Mum has a fair few hospital appointments too!
I will of course try my best to respond to all messages as quickly as I can but please understand that there will be some days where I am spending time with my daughter.

Thank you,
Bethan 💚

13/07/2023

Hello everyone,

So my parents are feeling better but they do have a few hospital appointments scheduled over the next few weeks.
We will do our best to get back to helping out with animals again, but should a hospital appointment happen then please note we won’t be able to assist on that day.

Thank you for baring with us this past week & for all of the kind comments 💚

07/07/2023

PLEASE READ ⚠️

My parents are both very unwell today & therefore we will need to ask everyone not to turn up with any animal today. There’s no way we can help at the moment, I’m very sorry.

For domestics try North Clwyd Animal Rescue
For seagulls try Gull Guardians
For wildlife try EJ’s Pigeon & Dove Rehabilitation

An update will be posted on here to let you know when my parents are feeling better, until then, I’m very sorry for any inconvenience this will cause but with their health already being an issue we need to make sure they’re okay before continuing helping animals.

Thank you,
Bethan 💚

30/06/2023

Please note, if the animal you are messaging us about is on a roof / up a telephone pole or anything of the sort, we haven’t got the insurance to cover us for climbing public property. Therefore you would need to contact the likes of the RSPCA. We are also aware that the fire service have been to help in regards to something similar in the past.

Sorry for any inconvenience, but we cannot risk our lives. Thank you 💚

29/06/2023

We have just received a message from a lady called Angela regarding some fledglings. Unfortunately, probably due to this lady’s privacy settings, we can not respond to her messages at all.

Angela, if you see this, I will be getting my Dad to contact you as soon as he’s available.

Please, if you contact us on here, please make sure your privacy settings allow us to reply to you! 💚

14/06/2023

Thank you to Catherine for the donations this evening of bedding! Very much appreciated.

If anyone is wanting to donate, we are currently in need of towels (all sizes!)

Thank you 💚

14/06/2023

Good afternoon everyone!

We appreciate everyone who has been very understanding of our circumstances & can also appreciate that it had probably been quite difficult without us being able to respond/help all the time.
We are slowly trying to get back to normality but due to fuel/food costs as well as personal health reasons we aren’t able to come out and collect animals like we used to.

Therefore, if you are able to get the animal to us that would be a huge help. However, please don’t turn up unannounced as we can’t guarantee that we will be able to get to the gates as my Mum’s disabilities have increased.

I will try my best to get back to messages as quick as possible but please bare with me.
Many thanks
Bethan 💚

17/04/2023

Good evening everybody,

I’m sorry we still aren’t able to put all our focus into the page, a tonne has happened in our personal lives and we’re still trying to sort it all out. We understand it’s an inconvenience to everyone that has messaged us, but sometimes we have to put ourselves first as hard as that actually is for us.
Hopefully in the next few months we’ll have some form of normality in place & we will be able to get back to providing advise & assitance. But when we do, please note the assitance will be on a much smaller scale than previously. We will still try & take animals in, but we need to put our own health first as my Mum’s health deteriorated rapidly last year and as she’s the person who made the rescue happen it’s been a big hit to us all.

We will try our best to get back to helping everyone but please continue to bare with us. Things are upsetting & difficult and we’re only human after all.
Many thanks,
Bethan.

Surprise delivery this morning!

2 Baby Wood Pigeons have been put over our gates in a box. No note / message on here, so we’re just wondering if the person that dropped them off is on here & could give us some context as to what’s up with them. I can’t find any injuries & all that I do know is that they’re both hungry.
The box is a parcel box that had been delivered locally to someone called Simon Jackson? If you know him, or even better if you are the person & you see this, please could you message us with the background info just so we know what’s happened. Thank you so much for bringing them to us however! They’re just waiting for their breakfast to finish soaking & then they’ll have full crops 🥰💚

The Amazon Delivery Driver just turned up with a trolley full of donations!! We are absolutely blown away by the kindness 🥺🥰

There was no note left with the Thermometer so we don’t know who to thank, but we are definitely grateful!
Thank you to Joanne for the Bird Grit, always comes in handy!
Thank you so much to Leanne for the Calcidust / Cuttlefish / Moss & Tortoise Substrate, everything we needed this week you’ve delivered!

We appreciate everyone who uses our Amazon Wishlist to donate and as much as we write our gratitude it never seems enough! But please know, we are incredibly grateful 💚

Steve the baby Seagull

Found last night in an open area with no Mother, came in this morning weak but fighting. He’s had a nice feed & has settled down for a sleep, possibly the first sleep on a full belly in a while!
Little & often feeds for this little guy until we’re happy with his progression with eating 🤞🏻

Edit: Very happy to say that this interesting post (and additional photos) was originally created by Skywatch Bird Rescue. Please give them a follow.

See the hole in the back of the Birds tongue? It is called a Glottis. It is the opening of their airway (trachea). All birds have this, you just can't see it so easily in most birds. The Glottis is the opening of the pathway directly to their lungs. This is why you should never drip water into a bird's open mouth. The water flows over the tongue and goes right into the Glottis, through the trachea and sits in the bird's lungs. (Called Aspiration)

Unlike humans, Birds cannot cough water out of their lungs so the water just sits in their lungs and they slowly suffocate with each breath, as well as can get a bacterial infection like pneumonia. This is why you should never drip water into a bird's open mouth. It takes a trained avian rehabilitator to properly hydrate a bird without causing more damage.

When you find a bird keep it contained and dark and quiet. If it's a baby, keep it very warm and get it to a licensed professional immediately. It's not only the law, but the right thing to do if you want it to have the best chances of survival.

We will be attending the Jubilee event at Ty Calon on Thursday 2nd June with some of our animals! As we cannot guarantee from one day to the next what will be coming in we can’t guarantee who out of the animals will be attending, so it’ll be a surprise for any one wishing to come & see us! But we always make sure to bring animals that you can meet / stroke and photograph just please ask us first!

Hope to see some of you there! 💚

We will be attending the Vale Vintage Machinery Club show on Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd July!

My Dad will be there with some of his military items as well as his jeep, my Mum will have some crafts available & I’ll be there with my own small business too! All there to help raise money for our rescue 🥰 Hopefully we will see some of you there! 💚

14/05/2022

Hi everyone!

Just a quick post to say that I run this page by myself due to my parents not being tech savvy etc. But I also run my own business as well and today I will be attending an event with my own business & therefore I won’t be able to respond to messages on here quickly / at least for a couple of hours until the event is finished. I do apologise as I know this may cause some inconvenience but I sincerely hope you understand.

My Dad will be home today as my Mum will be attending the event with me for moral support / me being her Carer I have to make sure should she need me I’m there. I can’t guarantee that my Dad will be home the whole day as there are times where he may be called out or simply needing to restock on animal food etc.

Again, I’m sorry for any inconvenience this will cause, but I know most of our supporters are understanding.

Thank you,
Bethan 💚

Huge thank you to the RNLI Flint Lifeboat for rescuing Ralph from the mud this afternoon. Unfortunately, other than just being dirty, Ralph has a completely shattered right wing. Infection has started to set in which will also be heightened from the mud being all over him too.

The RNLI acted fast & clearly don’t just rescue people! 👏🏻 We’re happy to be working alongside emergency services.

First talk of the year just finished!

Thank you so much to everyone at Ysgol Ty Fynnon for having us, the three classes we went to were all absolutely lovely to meet. We are SO sorry that we didn’t get to answer all your questions or even have enough time to talk to you properly about the animals we took with us. But we’re glad you all enjoyed it!

To the parents of the children we did the talk for: You should all be very proud, they were all very polite & showed a lot of interest. Credits to you all!

“It's hard to believe that Runty has been with us for less than 3 weeks, he's definitely living up to his title of King. “Rory has settled in very well and is getting along with his new brother well. They love to have a play fight and tire each other out. He is cuddle monster to say the least! Everyday working from home he is constantly wanting attention and cuddles which is so cute. He is loving the cat tree and all the toys we have got him to play with. Narvi has gotten used to having him around and we are just hoping they start cuddling more together.

Trying to contact u for a young seagull with a damaged wing
Day 4 of Family Dowsett, Dr. Doolittle & The Gull doing just fine

Eleanor Dowsett
Hi,
Can anyone help please. I’ve picked up a juvenile magpie with a quite obviously broken wing, and what looks like a damaged leg this morning. It’s in a box with water and cat biscuits currently but I have no idea what to do other than that. I have tried ringing but you’re obviously very busy. I’m in Mostyn and could easily drop it off if you can let me know when and where. Many Thanks
Morning, we have picked up a (young?) swift which was grounded this morning. He has apparently been knocking around the village for 2 - 3 days. We've brought him in and put him in a box with air holes punched into it and have gone to try and get him some insect food. We are looking for advice on how best to feed and water him please?
Can anyone help me with a fledgling that my dog brought in today he is injured either his leg or wing. I have been feeding him mushed meal worms but he needs proper care
Rocky getting a big boy now 9 months rules the house
Rocky is still a very spoilt baby, he's bought us both so much happiness.
Are there any kittens for adoption?
And if so how much ?
Hello
We woke up to find a fledgling in our garden this morning no signs of injury and both mum and dad were tending to the baby.

It’s been a few hours since I’ve seen mum and dad ( since my dog sniffed it) is this normal for them not to come back for hours? Thanks
Rocky definitely settled
Rocky settled, purring one end and farting the other.
💥 has elderly owners so any help would be appreciated💥

The home of Bird Aid CIO is under threat 😥😥
It is located (Hailsham UK Southern England)
It is home to around 1000 injured birds and animals, their lives now depend on enough money being raised through donations 😧😧
This dreadful situation bird aid are facing has hardly any media coverage, so not many people know that they need help in raising the funds to remain open and save the lives of all the animals, Time is running out for them 😮🥲

They need to raise £170.000 by 27th November
if they don’t raise that amount then the rescue centre will be closed down indefinitely 😥😥
And all the resident birds and animals will be put to sleep 🥲😮😫

They currently have only raised £74,313

if anyone would like to help them by making a small donation

She does this all by herself and has never had a day off 😮
