Here are the TLC ladies that came from the farm last weekend. One they got out of the crate, they started to enjoy the sunshine! After spending a couple of days in the little run to acclimatise, they have been allowed out into their private TLC enclosure to scratch in the dust and eat grass.

At the farm by 4.30am yesterday where we collected over three thousand hens. Lovely farmer came out to help us.
Brought sixty six home with me. Sixty two went to new homes and four stayed with me for some TLC before they go off to coops and pastures new.

Fresh Start for Hens
is a not for profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers who are dedicated to rehoming hens from the commercial egg production sector.
Saving these ladies is very rewarding. You can see them recover and start to enjoy their new lives. Chickens make brilliant pets – they are clever, funny and affectionate and they can lay eggs too!
