Home Puppy's training

Dogs In Line is a unique one-2-one puppy training service based in Fulking in West Sussex. Instead of training the puppy, we teach the owner how to train their puppy… in their home. This special tuition creates clear lines of communication that will help your puppy to develop in a positive way. Establishing this connection from day one is essential, because understanding th

eir puppy’s physical and social behaviour, is the most fundamental lesson an owner can learn. Dogs In Line was founded in 2006 by Sue Venn. Sue is recommended by a number of industry experts and her reputation is second to none. Her training methods are passive and adapted to the individual. They are extremely effective in treating a myriad of problems. It’s hardly surprising that Sue’s individual approach is often described by clients as ‘remarkable’.

George’s story is a really special one.

George is a large rescue dog who had already experienced a failed adoption before finding his current family. When they first contacted me back in February, they were really struggling. George was extremely anxious around people and very reactive to visitors in the home. Walks were also difficult, as he would react to passing people, dogs, and sometimes even cars.

Despite all of this, George has always been a lovely dog with his family. His reactions were rooted in anxiety and uncertainty rather than aggression.

Since February I have been working closely with George and his owners, helping them understand what was driving his behaviour and guiding them through the process of building his confidence and emotional stability.

This video was taken recently in Hove Park, and it is a huge milestone for him. George is relaxed, enjoying the space around him, and able to experience the freedom that once felt impossible for him.

Watching dogs like George progress like this is exactly why I love what I do. With the right guidance, patience, and understanding, even very reactive dogs can learn to feel safe in the world.

If you are struggling with a reactive or anxious dog, help is available.

Bandit was a rescue street dog who was very nervous when he first arrived. He was particularly scared of men, often barking at male visitors before running off to hide. He also had no recall, so he could not be safely let off the lead. 🐾

With the right guidance and training, Bandit has made fantastic progress. His confidence has grown, he is much calmer around visitors, and his owners now have the tools to support him properly.

He is now engaging well, responding far better both at home and outside, and continuing to grow into a happier and more confident dog. 💛
